No sound out of tower speakers

My tower speakers quit working all of a sudden and now make a rhythmic poping sound instead while the other boat speaker play music. Any ideas about how to troubleshoot this issue are welcome.

do you have a separate tower speaker amp, is it showing a code by its LED changing colors snd/or flashing?
