Boating Safety

Guess I'm lucky...The folks who we invite along are happy to be there. All I ask is that they follow a few rules:

1. Use some common sense,

2. If you don't know...just ask,

3. Leave your extra large bag of cheese curls at home; and,

4. If you are getting something from the cooler, make sure to take care of me also!

I'm so anal about my boat and things, that if I'm in the water everyone is on special watch to make sure nothing goes wrong... lol My firends know how I am, so I have never had to say much to any of them at all....

Let's hope this continues this year also....

One thing I've been thinking about since a trip last year to Mohave while talking to the friendly boat ramp director...

Talk to the kids about staying seated while the boat is in motion, especially while on the trailer. He had mentioned that they had to take a small child to the hospital after falling out of the boat while on the launch ramp. It's a long ways down out of the boat while on the trailer.

For me, it created a new awareness of what can happen and I try to make a habit of talking to the kids before I pull the 'bu down the ramp and back 'er in.

Here is possibly the best rule to tell newbies....

What? Are you crazy? Do you know that we could get a huge fine for pulling a tube behind a boat with over 300 HP? Yahoo.gif
