Ski Pylon is stuck down

Recommended Posts

When mine did that, I used some spray silicone to loosen it up a little, and I was able push up on the bolt that guides it through the sleeve.  Then extra silicone, ant it works like a charm now.

I just bought a Wakesetter that has been sitting for a while and I"m having the same problem with the pylon being frozen in the down position.  Spray silicon all over the place and tried using a hammer to tap upward on the bolt and then on the base of the cylinder that is accessible at the bottom and it just wont' budge.  Not sure what to do next.

Pull the locking bolt out of the side of the pylon and drop it in to the engine compartment. It may not go all of the way in, but it may allow the crud holding it in to fall out and allow the pylon to be pulled out after clearing the debris.
