Tach Help 99 Sunsetter

Recommended Posts

Figured I would get some  boat project done while we are all stuck @ home.  My Tach gauge is not working properly.

It is "off", the needle now rest / starts @ 5300 instead of 0.  Even with the key off it rest @ 5300.  When you start the boat it moves with the throttle, but of course gets pegged out pretty quick.

The hour meter in the tach gauge still works correctly.  Any ideas?  besides replace the gauge itself? 99 Sunsetter LX w/ the monsoon engine

Thanks

Swap the plug at the back with another working gauge.  They are all on the same bus.  If the tach now works, it is the MDC; if it does not it is the tach.  You can get replacments (maybe?) at Bakes or Greatlakesskipper for  a small fortune.   I just called Ron Tanis at skiboatpartsonline.com and replaced the whole shebang for about the price of an MDC.  And I went to white faced gauges.  :)
