2013 Malibu Ride Series Indmar Monsoon Engine

I thought I would try to save some money and winterize my boat this year, just got married and money is tight. Watching a video on how to winterize that engine, I drained all the appropriate hoses and block. I thought it would be more prudent to put in antifreeze so I connected everything back up and disconnected the raw water inlet hose coming in from the bottom of the boat to the transmission cooler. I then ran a length of hose connected to the trans cooler inlet with a funnel. I ran the outside water hose and turned it on. As the hose started to over flow the funnel, I started the engine. I expected water to start coming out the exhaust and after about 30 sec got concerned something was wrong when nothing was coming out. How long should it take to come out the exhaust? Should I run it longer? My plan was to run the engine till warmed up and then put in antifreeze until that comes out. Should I then drain the antifreeze too because it may be diluted? Just want to do it right. Thanks

Me? I skip the antifreeze. Some folks do it to help with corrosion, but my 98 has never had it and is doing just fine. I would just pull the two plugs on the block, I stick a small Allen wrench in the holes to make sure they aren’t clogged and all water comes out. Undo and drain the hose for the manifolds. Pull and drain the j hose off the water pump. I pull the hose after the v-drive and blow air through the v-drive to make sure all water is out. Also pull, to replace next year, the impeller. If you have a heater and or shower, you need to take care of those too. Not sure the procedure for those.

anti-freeze or not has been discussed to length on here. After reading most, I still rest easy in the winter without it.
