Yeah, I agree. @Raleigh did he give any further information about that?

Maybe worthwhile for others to call back in?

He did not specify what he meant by corrected but it seems like there was an error in the rates that were sent. Saved me a ton though! Sorry could not be more specific.

Bill showed up today, up $78 from last year.  Rate history is $254, $264, $264, $342 since I've been with them.  One thing I found interesting was the insert in the bill that talked about limiting liability from lift accidents.   Must be having a lot of over loaded lifts resulting in damages.  They even had some info on lift maintenance.

Been another year

Interesting that the rate dropped back down to $264 this year.  Only change to the policy was a rider about no coverage from virus/bacteria causes (wouldn't have thought it did), and an additional deductible for any damage caused by a lift.  Must have a lot of over loaded lift failures.

Did your policy have the dimensioning deductible claim?  If so, after four years, would your rate drop since you have "paid" for it in your premium?

Same $1000 deduct that I have always had, and same agreed values for the boat and trailer.  The windstorm deduct is 3K - no idea if that was there before, doesn't really apply to me so I don't care.

There is some special deduct expiration date of July 10/2017 and disappearing deduct start of Jan 1/2017 listed on the declarations.

So, no idea what that all means.  I've never had a claim on this or any policy for the boat.

I have it on my policy and I am sure that my rates won’t drop regardless. The way I understand it is, after 4 years of no claims if a claim does occur we won’t eat the $1000 deductible we would of otherwise had to pay out of pocket before the end of the 4 year claim free period. I see the “lift deductible” as a new item as well. No change to my rates this next period, so far...

Had to renew on line. Was told no mailouts this year after calling. I could have printed out and mailed the bill or do online EZ pay. Same premium price as last 4 years.

I always call and do it over the phone.

I just got my SkiSafe renewal for 2021...i have been a policy holder with them since 1996... I had a 1996 Mastercraft Prostar 205 and in 1998 it was 2 months out of warranty and the rear main seal went out and I blew the motor... SkiSafe covered a new motor (I don't remember, but I think that it was around $8000 maybe more) and I was extremely grateful and loyal to them... This past Spring I made a small claim with SkiSafe (they paid about $1200)...and my rate went up by almost 30%.... The increase was almost $200 and I called and they said that they had a "rate increase" and that I had made a claim... Well... Now I am shopping for new insurance. I will check with Boat US and see what they say... I have been a loyal customer for 25 years and that type of business practice has lost my blind loyalty...

Don't be hasty.  Your insurance history will follow you like the Albatross in 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner'.

just renewed mine and it's the same annual cost as it has always been.  $320 per year.

I have the same boat and my insurance is $449. We have agreed value of $52k and 5k on the boat.

I may have to call them, I just got the renewal papers.

edit: just called them, it's because I have a million liability. I have all the discounts I qualify for.

freeze insurance is only $52. a year.

So I am confused now as @hawaiinstyle has a 2008 VLX a year newer than my '07 and my stated value policy had around $62,000 (or maybe 64 including the trailer) and my previous bill was always $663 and now went up to like $855......my recent claim paid less than $1200

First, he is canadian so it’s Monopoly money😂

second, it’s really dumb to compare rates because there are so many factors at play (credit score, claim history, limits, values, region, etc).
third, why are you filing a claim for $1200? Better to pay small claims out of pocket. On things like boats if you rack up small claims, pretty soon you’re no longer insurable or considered high risk and pay accordingly.

I'm with Geico/BoatUS, been with them for 20+ years.  My renewal just came in and it went from $313 to $457 this year, but I did have an almost 20K claim last year. (1st claim ever)

I checked with Progressive and they quoted me over $800 without knowing about my claim... Yet!

 I guess I can live with $457.

Bill showed up today, up $97 from last year.  Rate history is $254, $264, $264, $342, $264, $264 and now $361 since I've been with them.    Be interesting to see if it drops next year after a 1 year hike again.

My Ski-safe price remains the same after 20 years. I do have a lay-up clause in my policy from Oct 1st to May 1st. Outside that, I use my 53 year old Winner. 3 pictures of our boats are in "pics of your boat on the water" thread, Feb 28, 2016. My brother took over possession of our still running '62 Glassmaster.

Mine went up $100 this year.  First rate increase on this boat.

I used SkiSafe for the first 2 years of owning my Axis. Shopped through my primary carrier this year and saved about $150 a year with better coverage. People need to shop around for quality coverage or they just keep upping it without notice. My carrier actually realizes this, has made mention of it and does a reassessment every two to three years to save us money.
