how many pumps per zone to get the fill time so quick?   definietly not a fan of all the missed seating opportunity due to cooler slide and the big screen sticking up from the dash.  Lower profile is just so much cleaner and safer in a boat.    Nice to see this thread refocused, it was really getting out of hand

1 pump per tank, IIRC, but they are huge pumps.

So i guess one summary thought, would i upgrade from the 25? Nope. The M240 is freakin great. But i like the inside space of the 25 better, and personally couldn't justify the cost difference. Better surf wave, yup, 100% for sure. 100k different.... and then some.... up to you....

equally weighted is it really that much better? "that one time" we had 19 in the boat ..haha... well 18 (not so small) people + surfer + full ballast the wave was crazy. i'm guessing if the boats are similar sized and weighted the waves would probably be pretty similar. At some point how much difference is the hull going to make if the speed, weight, and displacement is near the same?

M240 looks ok inside but i prefer the 25, the pass side looks too cramped and i cant stand the boxy G23 style bow nose design although i like some of the creature comforts for sure. but $100k more, get out of town, should be a M270 for that price.

i still say the 25lsv is the best bang for the buck of any brand, make, or model to date and resale would be way better as well. that is until the 27lsv comes out...

This is exactly it.  Some have the coin and value having the best.  Hats off to Bu for addressing those in this market space.

Thanks for the review.  Very appreciative even though it isn't in our price range (not even close in all reality).

We havn't weighted our 25 to a comparable level yet, but i think it would be a heck of a wave, the shape of the wave though, and the push at the bottom of it on the M240 is what was most impressive.

Not picking a fight here.  I just wanted to get my two cents in to prove it's not a universal dislike.  I can't stand the MXZ bat-mobile front end. I really really like the more muted lines on the bow of the M240 boat while still having a playpen bow.  Yes, the G23 has the same style.  But it's a boat. How many design queues can you really differentiate with?  Deep Hull? Check.  Square transom? Check.  All that's left is the tower, windshield, gel patterns, etc.  The MXZ bows look like someone was trying to be different for the heck of it.  Anyways, that's just my opinion.  It's nice to see something different and have choices.

ok i'll agree, IMO i hate the MX bows even more than the G23/M240 for sure. then you have the Supra which blended the MX/G23/M240 all together.

10ft wide 27lsv would widen a Traditional Bow perfectly!

I actually liked the bow in the M240. I felt it gave more than enough space for 2 adults to relax, facing basically direction they wanted.

Throw more weight at your 25, you'll a ton of bottom push.

I heard 2000 GPH.

How big is midship tank?  That’s only 278lbs a minute and that’s at 100% efficiency on the pumps. Would only fill 834 lbs in 3 minutes. Unless they put a smaller midship tank than the M235 has? The M235 was 1100 lbs I think?

Where did you got +$100k ?

i price today 2020 25 LSV almost same colors and spec.  , I cannot add LT4 engine and new surf gate- costumer price $165k

i price 2020 24 MXZ like above  -$178k

all included stern turn

M240 - $214k

M240 better engine, interior, better wave , design

I was told it is 6 tanks total, i don't know the specifics, i forgot to even look.  But 6 pumps doing 2000gph is; 33 gpm x6 pumps, thats near 200 gallon/ minute, 3 minutes is 600 gallons of water, or roughly 4800 lbs of water.

All that assumes all pumps working at full capacity, and i don't know how big the tanks are or what the pump size actually is.

Each tank would have to be 834 lbs or less to fill in less than 3 minutes at 100% efficiency is all I was getting at. Unless pump is larger than 2000gph. Was drain times as fast??  Worst part of our M is almost 15 to 20 minutes to drain that big midship tank with that 1” pump that it has.

Drain was much slower than fill time.

Glad you took time away from your framing project to come play on a beautiful fall day!

The raw water pump for your engine is rated at 60 GPM (3600 GPH).  It's interesting to read of all the ways you guys want to load the heck out of an electrical system.  Soon you'll need an auxiliary power unit just to power everything but the prop.

That would look great on a trailer with "Oversize Load" draped across the back, flags at the corners, and an amber flashing light on your truck.  Oh, and you can't tow during major holidays, or at night.  But hey, at least Indiana doesn't require an escort for under 10' 6" wide.  Only $405 for an annual tow permit!

With all of the rules, I say skip over Malibu and go for something substantial.
