Tips on dialing in a 2019 A22 surf wave

Hey all, we got our 2019 A22 at the beginning of July and are just starting to try and dial in the surf wave and would love to hear if anyone knows the best way to set it up for surfing? We have 750lb plug 'n play bags in the rear lockers and the Wakemakers 440lb bag in the bow. We also have the PW3. We aren't planning to add any lead anywhere but do have some weight in the observers storage compartment from various gear in there (maybe 50-75lbs). I've read on various threads that it's not ideal to fill the 750lb bags totally full because it reduces the effectiveness of the Surf Gates and that does seem to be true in our case, even when we have the bow sack full and kids up front. We are by no means advanced level surfers but we'd like to have a steep enough wave in the pocket for some good carving. What I've found was best (so far) the other day was rear sacks about 2/3 full, full everywhere else and wedge at 3. We had a crew of 2 adults and 3 kids all in the wraparound lounge area during that run, with a full tank of gas. The next day, I tried the same configuration on a different lake with 3 kids in the bow and 3 adults in the wraparound lounge area and the wake wasn't steep enough unless we put wedge at 4. Not sure why it was different. Maybe too much bow weight? With a small crew, should we always fill the bow sack? Just looking for a basic setup to go by but I realize there are a ton of different factors at play. So maybe a general recommendation? Thanks in advance for any tips.

Also, the boat came stock with an ACME 2249 and we just swapped it out for a 2279 and wow, what a difference. Still plenty of low end holeshot with ballast full and lower RPM's at surf speeds and wakeboard speeds. The engine just seems so much more relaxed. Not sure it could handle full ballast with a large crew at wakeboard speeds but I think it could do so at surf speeds. We are at sea level, too, btw.

Thanks.

Nevermind, just found this thread...Thanks Raimie. Pretty much answers my questions. I'm gonna keep experimenting. Sorry about the new thread.
