Folding the 07 illusionX bimini

Ok, this is an extrememly stupid question but I can't seem to figure it out. I have a 07 Vride with an illusionX tower and built on bimini. How do you fold up the bimini on the tower? I know you have to remove the two back support poles from the tower, then the two poles in the front come out but what next? Do you have to remove and store seperately any of the poles? Does the top roll up (doesn't seem like it can with all of the poles still attached).

Unfortunately, I did not receive any documentation with the bimini therefore I am at a lost of how to fold it :) BTW, the boat is awesome....I am a avid slalom skier (don't do much wake boarding) and am loving every minute I spend behind the Vride. I was definately worth upgrading to from my Monterey I/O.

Thanks for any help you can provide,

Tim

Welcome Tim & congratulations on the boat. :)

It takes a little practice & you might want to take some time in the driveway to get the hang of it. After you release the rear struts, you take the front poles out (there should be a little pocket in the boot to store them). You'll need to undo the velcro sections on each side near the rear struts. Swing the front section back on top of the rear section so that it's basically folded in half to the rear. Then you just line up the frame of the 2 sections, fold the extra material back & sort of around it, then put the boot on it. After the boot's on, swing it back up & on to the top of the tower & strap it on. Some people take the entire bimini off to do this, but we generally do it this way (although it does go more quickly if you've got 2 people working together). Hope that helps.

Does anyone know if this can be done with the extension on the bimini? I have the extension and couldn't see a way to make it work, I guess it's all up or nothing with the extended bimini. Also does anyone know where I could get the quick release clips that go attach to the frame ends and go into the base for the bimini? I would like to have an extra set to make the conversion from standard to extended bimini easier.

Thanks

PS this is pretty boring for my first post, I'll try to do better in the future!
