Yep, The PowerSportsCenter is where I bought from. Did the demo on wonderful Lake Norman at the launch along side of the Rusty Rudder (restaurant and bar) on a beautiful Saturday morning. I worked with Scott Adams (one of the three owners) and felt like he really treated me well. Everything on the boat checked out accurate to the descriptions and the images they had sent via email. I was excited and pleased to buy the boat from them.

Everyone I dealt with at PowerCenterSports was very cool and really customer service focused. These guys seem to be all about the service aspect of the business (selling Malibus and loving it). If they stay with that delivery I bet they'll be around (and profitable) for years to come.

Thanks to everyone for all of the tips and insights regarding towing, trailering, etc. We got back without a hitch.

Some of what I applied was: wrapping the tower with "palette wrap" from Staples. Solid results for the $11 bucks spent. Wrapped all open wrapped edges with electrical tape and it worked like an absolute charm. Tower had 0 - ZERO bugs, dirt, crap on it and the wrap was simple to install and remove.

The 4-runner had NO PROBLEM hauling the 2002 Wakesetter VLX and it's single axle Boatmate trailer through the hills of Virginia or the mountains of West Virginia, it's owner was very proud (not me - a work buddy of mine).

We left Cornelius about 2PM Saturday arrived in the Irish Hills, near Brooklyn MI at about 1:30 AM. We were still celebrating the Ohio State Buckeyes dominance over the Iowa Hawkeyes - we listened to earlier that evening. We had a crowd of folks waiting up for us at the lake to "see the boat" when we finally arrived tired but stoked to be "home".

Dropped the boat in Sunday monring to get some time on and behind her on our lake and had a blast. The wedge and the ballasts really ad some size to the wakes - YEOW!

No one got hurt but we may when we get a little more time behind her in the spring! ;)

Thanks again for all of the help and information, I hope this thread will be useful to others beginners in the future.

Nothing better than a happy new bou owner. I bought mine in June 2005 and I think I still have some of that same grin on my face.

I bet you had the lake almost to yourself. This is a perfect time of year to get in some quality water sports, don't be in too much of a hurry to get her winterized we still have some good weather in front of us. If you don't have wet suits you need to get shoping for some deals on the internet so you have them by the time ice is out.
