We ordered a 2018 22 VLX at the Seattle Boat Show.  Wife and I have been looking at Malibu's for three years and finally pulled the trigger.  We had a Sea Ray 205 Sport that we loved but really wanted to be able to wake surf and have always liked the Malibu's.  Tough part is waiting for it to be made!  We are going to go back for a Factory Tour in April.  We colored up a few ugly boats using the build tool but finally ended up with this. 

Well just got some photos from Malibu and boat is in work and ahead of schedule.  She is coming to life!  They were schedule to start yesterday the 25th but they obviously started before then based on photos.  So glad we took the factory tour as I know right were the boat is in the process.

Oh man, I remember this time.   Mine was being built about now last year... after I saw the first pictures from the floor, I was a basket case until I launched mine.    You are going to have a GREAT summer!

Thanks!  Going to be a tough couple weeks waiting for it to show up here in Washington!  I thought the last couple months waiting for them to start was tough but now seeing it I am ready to get out on the water and break it in.   I can hear my mom saying patience patience patience but I want it now!!!  The wait will make it that much sweater when it shows up and can get the family out on it.

Took delivery today. Can’t wait to get through break in. 

The Malibu wax guy got wax everywhere. I was pushing my dealer for pickup so don’t really blame him. I cleaned it up and took all the warning stickers off of it. Going to install an onboard charger before I take it to our Lakehouse. 

Edit: the new F150 towed so much better than my 2015 GMC Sierra.

New boat has been in the driveway for a while but has not seen the water yet.  We had to postpone delivery twice because of snow and ice out came on our local lake the same day our new baby arrived. Hoping to bring the 2 year old and newborn out for the maiden voyage tomorrow. 

We hid heyhey on the boat for our daughter to find.  If you've seen the movie Moana you'll get it...

 

Here is the weather on our backup date to pickup the boat.

Some pre-delivery pics and one of the boat finally dropped in the water yesterday. Loving it!

Picked it up last Friday had it out on the water the next day. Hard to keep the RPMs down during break in, love it! Boat and trailer combo was difficult on a steep/deep ramp... had to sink the trailer (no power loading allowed).
