WakeandSno, how are Seth and Tadd liking it out there? I know K-State had some people go out there for break this year and had a good time. I need to get back to Charleston and check in with those guys. We had a great time when Tadd came out and trained with us for a couple days last year.

Last time I talked to Tadd, he and Seth were gearing up for all of the spring break visitors... I'll have to check with him and see. If you make it down or need help planning a trip to Charleston, let me know!

I'll definately get in touch if I head that way. We had a blast there last year. I'd really like to move there, hopefully the opportunity will arise at some time.

(digging from the bottom of the pile)

.... ok everyone - time to fess up - how'd you do relative to your goal??

Dang, that's 2 posts dug up from the past........... a little boared at work are we? Tease2.gif

Ah yeeeaauuup... that and it is my self proclaimed job to keep folks honest, and make sure that we are working to hit our goals (can you tell I'm supposed to be setting my own objectives at work right now.. sorta hard when I don't do anything)

Anyway - looks like UW gets a C... but Stewart, since your goal was to purchase that new spinning machine, looks like you met your goal Biggrin.gif

... good thing I didn't set any for myself Innocent.gif

Well my goal for this year was to wakeboard my butt off.

This goal is moving further and further away......

Another goal, however, is being close to fulfilled.  We are currently purchasing a new CNC spinning lathe for the business.  I will have to make a few trip to Germany in the next couple of months and then spend 2 weeks in June there for training.  Then the machine arrives late June, and then we will have a tech here doing training for another 1-1/2 weeks.  Then once its up and running, we have to start programming it, one job at at time.  Yikes.

Oh, did I mention, we may have to move the shop before the machine arrives  Shocking.gif

I better start selling a lot of cup holders  ;)

Wakeboarding my butt off, not quite, but we did take advantage of the short summer as much as we could. 2 WOW's and tried to camp/ride every other weekend July and Aug.

Bought the machine, didn't have to go to Germany, delivery was delayed unitil August.

Ended up not moving the shop.......long story, but I found out Commercial Realtors are the biggest scumbags. Don't do business with Colliers International! Mad.gifGuns.gif

2 out of 3 :)

I've made a deal with my older son that if he would learn to slalom this year that I would pick the stick back up.

I picked it up for one run & very quickly put it back down again. It reminded me why I love wakeboarding so much.

* Learning to barefoot

Close, I was up for about 2 seconds.

* Going wake to wake either toeside or switch, or land a back roll (got to try something new here)

Not even close.

* Getting a Sky Ski & using it lots

* Getting a surfboard & using it lots

Score on both counts.

* 150 hours on the boat

Not quite, we're sitting at around 115 for the year. Not too bad considering we were boatless for over a month of prime season (the entire month of September).

And overall, having a ton of fun on the water this year.

Score! Yahoo.gif

Spent every outing on the boat with our boy. Hard to guage on my slalom it's better but only free skiing.... I put the wakeboard on and took a run, just doesn't feel right. I did learn some new drinks and how to make strong jello shots..lol

One foot off the boom, BF longline, more control and COMFORT while I'm sliding across the water on my bare feet.  Baby.gif

Didn't do the one foot, but made it longline and gained MUCH better body position/control while footin.' Hey, 2 outta 3 aint bad, right?

Oh yeah, and I've skied more days this season than any other--a record breaking year baby! Not to mention I was blessed with watching my 3-year-old son kneeboard, ski skimmer, and drag from a handle off the boom. AND he's the overton's picture of the week! Yahoo.gif

Holy crap it's been a good year. Beer.gif

There has been quite an evolution in the Smeagol household this year. We began the year with the dream that someday we'll own a boat and learn to board.

We finished the year surfing ropeless and going w2w hs, ts (barely), switch hs 180, boardslides, etc. behind our 05 VLX. That, and we taught somewhere in the range of 15 friends and family to board, ski, or surf.

We didn't really get going until August, so I'm very excited about having a full season next year.

My goal for the year was to run 39.5off - best I got [email protected]. When my buddy qualified for regionals I made a goal to place in top 5 - tied for fourth. I promised him that if he qualified I would go too.

On less measurable goals but maybe more important, My son started skiing and had fun doing it and I got to spend a lot of time with my family and good friends.

A good season, too bad for cold weather.

It snowed here Tuesday. We got a scant 12" or so inches of HEAVY stuff. What a pain in the arse cleaning off the boat cover. Especially because the boat is still in the lift! Water is down to 46° but I'll ski a few more days yet.

Our boating history is a bit short, but we're trying to make up for lost time! Last year the family learned how to stand on a wakeboard, go outside both wakes and surface 180s to/from switch. Then, in September we got our 'bu. This year I want to:

1. Spend lots of time with the family on the 'bu.

2. Teach our daughter to single ski.

3. Watch our daughter pass me on what she can do on the wakeboard.

4. Learned how to single ski last fall and this year I want to learn to really carve it up.

5. Get the last 90 of my surface 360s. I've heard they hurt less than the 270s I do now.  Biggrin.gif

6. Wake to wake 180s.

Reality check time...

1. Yep: well over 100 hours (and still going)

2. Yes! Made my year right there... Yahoo.gif

3. Nope. She decided that she likes the ski better (right now).

4. Got a fair amount better then regressed the last month. Time to get back to some drills and figure out where I'm going wrong (stop bending at the waist you fool!)

5. Nope. Didn't do much wakeboarding this year.

6. See 5.

It's been a great year though. Made new friends at NW and NorCal WOWs, all of the family can now single ski / wakeboard / surf ropeless. Best of all, we're fortunate to have become friends with the WakeGirl clan (WakeGirl, Slider, "Bob" :), and Billy). Many, many good times and looking for even more next year!

PS - this end of year assessment is kind of cool! Can't wait to set next year's goals.
