Boat decisions

Curious if you ever made a decision. I went through pretty much same options. Really wanted to stay with Malibu. Didn't care much for the T22, even though I went into it thinking that was my best option. Coming off a Malibu, I felt like I was going backwards in the fit and finish, even though my boat was 11 years old. Sales guy even mentioned it would be hard to go from Malibu to axis.

Really liked the 21 vlx. After seeing, feeling, and driving everything, that was my favorite boat. I just couldn't stomach $85k+ on a boat.

The nxt22 was a nice compromise for us. Not as nice as the Malibu, but got bigger boat and still saved some cash. The new tower was big factor also, super easy to fold and Bimini the best design we saw.

Probably don't get as nice as a wave as axis or Malibu, but this is 90% family boat for us. Swimming, tubing, kneeboarding, etc. When the dads actually get to sneak away, we get a little surfing in.

Probably can't go wrong with any of them. If money no object, I can't imagine anyone picking a nxt22 over 22 vlx. XT22, that might be closer comparison.

I've done the 22vlx, owned the 23LSV, and spent a week on a 25lsv.

my buddy has a 14'x30 . I really like the fit am finish of the mastercraft boats, tip of the cap to MC. But I do prefer the Surfgate wave. I wish BU would do reversalble pumps in their ballast system.

22vlx is solid, but I prefer the room and slightly larger size of the 23.

My dealer doesn't even put 22's on the floor just because the cost difference versus the 23 is minimal. I would go with a 23lsv, and if you like the interior style of the 22vlx then I bet you could get a leftover 17 23lsv for the same price as an 18 22vlx.

Check it out; With GSA or whatever Mastercraft calls it, you get a long powerful wave with tons of push.  Slap a Nauticurl on the side & you get a surf gate wave that is steep & shaped the same as the Axis & Bu's I've been on.  You also get more adjustbility with Mastercrafts system than you do surfgate as well or what the powerwedge can deliver.

If budget is an issue but you want a 23' boat I'd much rather have a gently used 23 lsv or X30 than a new Axis or NXT anyday.  Just get in line for one of @ConnollyCrew's boats.

There are plenty of guys who take care of their boats but trade up often.  You can also transfer warranties to the second owner.
