Where to buy ski locker through drain plug

Hello  all,

I bought my boat used (02 Wakesetter VLX) and the drain plug that runs horizontally through from the ski locker to the V drive bilge is missing.  I am having a hard time sourcing a replacement.  I went to the local shop and I grabbed two plugs.  One was a brass T handle which matches the plug in the V drive area, but is too large for this threaded through drain, and I also grabbed the smaller transom plug, which is too small.  Whatever it is, it appears to be a threaded plug smaller than the brass T handle, and larger than the brass transom plug.  Does anyone know what it is I need and where I can find it?

Thanks!

My '04 Sunscape has the same plug but the previous owner cross threaded it and it is a PITA to remove or install and constantly leaks.  I bought a new brass unit and an installing it this weekend.

Yep, that's it.  I am going to replace it with a 1/2" brass plug assembly I got from Bakes that I picked up while ordering some other supplies.

There is no reason to have that plug. Putting it in will just cause water to pool in the forward ski locker. You are better off without it.

for me its more diagnostic.  I know my bilge pump is shot so I'm replacing that.  However when I took it out, I noticed that I didn't get much water in the bilge the time I didn't operate the ballasts, but when I did I had more water in both compartments.  I was hoping to isolate the two compartments to determine where its coming from.

YMMV but I like having it to keep the shaft dripping water out of the ski locker.  The ballast bag in the locker does not leak so it stays dry in there.

The thread is 7/8-14 UNF.     I worked with my buddy at a machine shop. We pitched gauged the thread. 7/8-14 UNF is a straight thread so a O-ring is necessary on the plug.

I think it is a good idea to keep the bilge water out of the bow portion of the bilge. Many of these boats naturally sit bow low. So enough said.
