Our spray date was today!!!  Here are the boat builder pics of the umpteenth iteration that we picked  I can hardly handle the anticipation.  I feel like the Mervyn's commercial from the 90's with the lady standing with her face pressed against the outside of the glass door, saying "Open, Open, Open!

Love it... that is going to look SHARP.   For what it is worth, I think all the iterations on boat builder paid off.   I did more than I can count.   Many just got discarded out of hand, but in the end, boat builder does not even BEGIN to show you how good it will look.   

Are you going on the tour or getting pictures from the floor? 

One other comment... After our maiden, I am a HUGE fan of the Phender Pros.  Make life SOOO easy.   My crew all commented on them - easy to add either by the dealer, or even by you if you can bring yourself to drill (assuming you decide to do them)

One thing that I've noticed over the years are malibus gel colours all look nice. They all just seem to match and go nicely together. I've seen so many Mastercrafts and Nautiques that are just so ugly looking.  The one other surf boat out on the lake yesterday was a brand new brown LSV and I was just drooling over it. Unlike most people seeing a new boat like that on our lake, is like seeing a lambo on a dirt road, it just doesn't happen.

I took a tour of the Nautique factory and do the molds for the boats ever look giant! Definitely recommend checking it out, malibu or not.

The anticipation was bad enough before, but now it is unbearable.  I think I check my phone every 15 minutes to see if the date has changed. 

Here is a photo of how much they got done in less than 4 days.  Absolutely amazing to me!

Well I finally got it! Super excited to get her out for the first time and break her in. Sorry for the bad pic I was trying to do as thorough of an inspection as possible while the same time beat a storm that was headed in. I will post some more when I have some time.

Last night we took delivery of our new 2017 22 VLX and took it for a short test ride on Folsom Lake with our dealer, Larson Marine!  Huge thanks to our dealer for making this a very easy process.  They really helped simplify the ordering process and had all the paperwork lined out and ready when we got there to pick it up, to top it off he took us out for an orientation ride to go over the functions of the boat first hand.  Huge thanks to Larson Marine!  The pic of my son seeing it for the first time sums it up so well: All smiles with a big thumbs up:

Because I know that I was interested in knowing what real world build schedules were before we ordered and I have seen other questions recently about it, here is our build timeline: Feb 23 - May 23 (3 Months)

Feb. 23: Placed Order

March 31: Received notice that our build date / spray date was scheduled for May 8.

May 8: build date / spray date

May 15: Boat completed, inspected, and wrapped for shipping.

May 20: Notified that our boat would be arriving on May 23

May 22: Notified that the Boat arrived at our dealer day early.

May 23: Our dealer had it prepped and ready for us to pick up!

@BLSousa Awesome!  Beautiful scheme, can see the happiness in the fam...

Took ours out tonight to fiddle with the surf wave a bit more.   Started with the preset for surf left.   Nice, big wave.   Added the PNP ballast, set the wedge 2 clicks off lift, and the wave was huge (to my eyes anyway).   Sadly, didnt have an observer, so I couldnt surf it.   SOON.
