Gets his motors from here. He can get it about $400 cheaper. Looks like upgrades start to get real expensive. Boat is at the lake at mechanics about an hour away but I haven't seen it. I called around a little today and his price seems to be right on par

If that is where he is buying then he is overpaying even at $400 off that price. Exact same gm crate motor that michiganmotorz is selling for $2800

The biggest issue with doing it yourself is lifting the old one out. You can't get it out with a standard cherry picker style engine lift.

2800 is what I paid for mine, and did it myself in 2 weekends.... shop wanted 1 month
