I have the new ones without the ball lever, and I am happy with them. They can be a pain to open and close but they are nice. You know you can trust when they are closed

Grant

Have you used them yet? And, are the sturdy when the boat is moving.

Yes have been on the water the last 2 weekends boards loaded both times, had no problems what so ever, they are very tight.

Grant

And when tieing up with others that have board racks, just swivel yours in and your good

I also have this new rack--I have had no problems at all. When towing its nice to remove the rack and put in the boat. No bugs or road grim to clean off.

I'm so glad to here the new version of the Metcraft racks are sturdy! It will make my decision to keep them easier if I don't like the Titan rack when it is available.

Thats what the Malibus come with, check with your local dealer

I ordered a board rack from my dealer and just waiting for it to come in, I will have three at that time

I ordered my boat in October with Metcraft racks and I have had my boat since December, but still no Metcraft racks. I finally went into the dealer today and had them change my order to the Titan swivel racks for the Illusion as I'm tired of waiting on the Metcraft racks. They said they could get the Titans in less than 2 weeks.

They showed me the Titan racks on Titan tower and they look very easy to use. They have an aluminum finish on the base and chromed forks. The lift-off is a latch that is pretty easy to open and close. I will try and post some pictures when they arrive. Hopefully it is less than two weeks and not months like it has been with Metcraft.

EDIT:

Never mind, the Metcraft racks magically showed up at the dealer today after months of limbo. Unless they totally suck, I'll probably keep them.

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally install my replacement Metcraft swivel racks. Have not tried them on the water yet but they feel much more sturdy! Here are some pics...
