This is something we deal with here as well.  I much, much, much prefer my boat with the paddlewheel for trick skiing where we are concerned about tenths of a mph.  Two boats in our rotation now have Zero Off and a third has StarGazer.  On our river, the current not only varies day to day, it will vary in different parts of the river....narrow to wide.  We deal with it when using the other boats and adjust for the current, but it's SO much easier with the paddlewheel.
