Maliview screen going blank

2009 247 LSV – 350 hrs

Malivue version A14. 

Gauges work on ignition, on the water for minutes and all gauges freeze, air/water/depth/oil psi/etc all go to "----" and the malivue locks up on the last readings. 

Lots of talk about updating software – I’m going to contact the dealer tomorrow but wondering if anyone knows where I can download from the web?

Weird that they’re working fine initially then die, makes me think that it’s a connection however, upon shutdown and restart, they’re back up for a couple minutes… 

Any ideas/thoughts appreciated and if you know where I can find the SW, pay in beer.

My 2009 VTX with 370 hours is having the same problem (screen freezes, gauges go blank).  Reseated all the wires - no change.  This started last year with the screen rebooting periodically - that issue was replaced with this issue.  Any ideas???

300+ hours seems to be the Magic Curse!  Just started this weekend on my 2009 VTX.  Frustrating to see so many have had the same problem around the same time.  

Solutions seem to be:

1) Update Software

2) Replace Batteries

3) Replace Viper Box

4) Replace ignition - On/Off

5) Replace Maliview Computer - $$$

Why 300 hours, and why are most of the boats 2009?  

Has anyone had a long term correction of this problem?

When trying to solve electrical problems, too often people jump right to component replacement instead of diagnosis.  About 70 percent of electrical problems are due to voltage drop caused by bad connections or corrosion.  Check that first.

Hello , 2011 Vlx with a blank maliview screen for a little while now. First started going dim and now just entirely dark. Can someone send me the latest update ? I am very hopeful this would work. Will try anything at this point nothing to lose!! [email protected]
