I am trying to figure out what fuel filter my 1998 malibu echelon with the Gen II 325 hp Indmar engine needs. Can anyone help? Also, how do I go about replacing it? Thanks!!

I am probably not much help for your immediate answer but.........

Years ago I added an additional inline fuel filter in front of the factory filter.

One of the kind you can pick up easily at the NAPA store that accepts the 5/16" or 3/8" rubber hosing.

I installed it in a place that was easy to get to.

Cheap to replace because I could use the generic inline filter.

I know you want to replace the stock filter now but next time you can get by just replacing the additional inline filter.

I did this after one of my buddies had engine trouble that ended up being a clogged fuel filter.
