Green light for a new (to me) boat

Congratulations! Must have been a fun day yesterday. I drove to Traverse City for my first boat. I was a long drive to get there, and I was pretty happy on the way home. I haven't contributed to this thread, because I'm also relatively new to inboards, but it's been an interesting read over the last month. I have to say that I'm shocked this has been going on for over a month. I thought it would be over much sooner.

I can't wait to see the pictures. We should try and get some of the SE Michigan guys together one of these days. Unfortunately my shipment of ballast parts didn't make it to me by the weekend. That was going to be my weekend project and I would have been putting the boat into the water today. Hopefully by Wednesday, I'll be skiing.

Congrats on the new boat. I think you will remember the day you picked it up and brought it home about as much as when you brought your firstborn home from the hospital. It will become part of the family. With each of my first two inboard purchases I had to drive 3-4 hours to pick up the boat and it started raining as soon as I left the dealership both times. It seemed for a while I could contol the weather because everytime I hooked up the trailer to the vehicle it rained. Both boats cleaned up very well and served us for many years and I hope your new boat does the same for you. Good Luck!

Thanks, Badger. I agree that it would be cool to get some SE guys together. Yesterday was fun. My brother and I drove down there, water tested the boat in the pouring rain, and drove back. It was very cool. A little later, I'll take a few pics and post them. My wife really wants to go for a ride, so I'll take her and our daughter our this afternoon if the weather holds up. I'll plan on trying to snap a few pics then.

Boatman, you're right on. I will never forget the day my daughter was born and likely will not forget yesterday's first inboard purchase. Given the condition of our new boat, I believe that it will certainly treat us the way your boats have treated you.
