We could get a group together and go take care of this ourselves. Except we would end up in more trouble than the perpetrators. Dontknow.gif

Todays laws suck!!

At least we would have story for the "Dirt Laundry" thread. Guns.gif

Sorry to bring up such a old subject but if you really want to see how bad this boat was or you want to buy it check this out.

wonder if you could clean it out to where it would be in step 2 or 3 or whichever and then ship it back to the factory and have them insert it in the appropriate spot in the assembly process?

Response LXI, Malibu. A boat barely afloat. Gentlemen, we can rebuild this. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first rebuilt Malibu. This Response LXI will be that boat. Better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster.

So I found the engine and running gear for this boat on Craigslist locally. I contacted Bakes who then contacted the Sheriff and insurance company, they wouldn't do anything about it. They didn't care at all Dontknow.gif .

That sounds like a good story for one of the local news stations.

Plus1.gif for beating the perps a$$. And where's Pistol Pete when you need him? Biggrin.gif What if a few crew dudes got together, printed off the pics and evidence, inquired about the motor, met with the guy and then showed him the evidence. I bet he would just hand it over, and no dirty laundry stories would be created Biggrin.gif

I have no idea why the Sheriff and insurance company were so uninterested in pursuing the situation. I know Paul was very dissapointed about the situation as well. I had even exchanged e-mails with the individual, took him 3 weeks to return my e-mail and when he did it was very vague and didn't really answer any of my questions.

The whole situation was a let down to say the least.

Just gotta wait about 5 more days. I'm in day 5 of my 10 day wait for my new .45 cal. XD. Whistling.gif

Seriously,

I'm not at all surprised the cops or insurance aren't lifting a finger. (I'm not happy about it either) But, at this point, they probably figure it's over, damage is done, owner got his ins. money and are callin it a done deal.

Get Jesse, a local reporter that gets results:

If only you guys could hear his signoff...hilarious...

I emailed King5 and they got back to me within an hour. I sent them to Paul since I know he knows who the owner is. This really upsets me. The monetary value isn't low, and the fact is once you place an ad in Craigslist you can easily be traced. They should have eagerly pursued these people. What good is the PD? They may as well dissolve their property crimes units if they aren't going to arrest people handed to them on a platter.

This could be a case where the police are monitoring the situation and building a case. I know it sounds funny but this happened once to me. I blew a sting operation on my own car that was stolen because it seemed to me that the police were not doing anything.

The car was stolen out of my driveway. Two weeks later one of my students saw it parked in a driveway not a mile away from where I live. More like 1/2 mile. The student phoned me, ( I was in class) I phoned the police. The police acted like there was nothing they could do. I got another teacher to cover my class and I drove over to get the dang car myself. As I was opening the door an undercover cop drove up and asked if I was the owner. After explaining who I was and showing my ID he told me he was sent out to watch the car. Dontknow.gif

I really wish they would have told me they were going to do that in the first place but they didn't. They did however ask if they could fingerprint the car. I picked it up the next day. As it turns out they couldn't do anything because they never caught the person driving the car.

Anyway there could POSSIBLY be more going on than the police are letting you know.

I will let you know if anything comes out of it, I doubt it will.

I was really upset too but what do you do? I felt like i did my diligence trying to get some justice served but I guess that is not how the system works.

You would figure that they would at least have a undercover cop / detective at least go check it out?

It's really sad, you should have watched them drag the boat up on the flatbed when they came to pick it up.

Trust me I looked into it... You can have the factory build you a new boat from scratch for less. It would make a cool row boat or hot tub 04.gif

Sounds more like the case they're building on the guy that robbed my house. We provided the local PD with the names of four neighbors who saw the little jerk and said they'd be glad to identify him for the cops. Nothing happened. That was 4 years ago, so either nothing is going to happen or that's one heck of a case they're building. PD is useless in my town.

I guess you never know....In my case the only thing keeping them from making an arrest (and release the next day I am sure!) was me.

  • 1 month later...

I just got a phone call from the King County Sheriff and they caught the guy that stole this boat and made the arrest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The arrest could have not happened with out the information and evidence from crew members!!!

What a great community of people on the crew!!!!!!!!
