Don't underestimate how good they are, our 14 year old started driving us at 12 years old and is by far our best surf driver (she is not old enough to drive towing a skier yet but I am confident when our laws permit)

Newbie here and we are in our 2nd Malibu. A new-to-me 2011 Resonse FXi. Malibu definitely built the right set-up for our family with this model. Got to love a boat where you can surf with your kids, then dump the 400lb ballast, raise the wedge and hit the course for some sets!

Railyn, 5, loves to surf with me. She has wakeboarded 2 times alone very briefly but yet to get a good pic. The funniest part is she never stops talking to me the whole time we are out there.

My wife has done this...twice within about 6 months of each other. Let me tell you, getting into a locked newer Jeep Grand Cherokee is not easy and will definitely damage some paint around the door. I almost would have rathered breaking the window and just going throug insurance to get the free glass replacement!

Awesome end to a great weekend. Got my kiddos out on the trainer for the first time last night. So proud of them! They loved it, can't wait to take them out again!

The cost of this trainer is a little steep, but if your kids are really young like mine, its totally worth it. I plan to work with them every weekend and slowly increase speed (we were at 4.5mph) and keep increasing the rope length. It is really stable, but still allows them some control due to the wooden skis inside the tube. So they are able to steer a bit. It made them feel really safe and overall, its a great way to introduce little ones to water sports.
