New Sky Skiers

Boat speed is going to depend on a lot of things such as weight of rider, how fast they are learning, & etc. I have one friend who learned on the 3rd pull and he is riding at about 18 - 20. He has real good control of the ski for a beginner so I guess he is an exception. Most people that I have taught learn to ride around 12 mph and then ride at about 14 or 15 when they learn better control of the foil. I ride at 26 or 27 unless I am trying new tricks then ride around 22 - 23 so the fall won't be as bad.

My most accomplished friend rides at 20-21mph.

Raising the speed EVERY session seems a bit much but raising it slowly over time is a great idea.

Is he doing inverts at that speed?

Nope. No inverts for him. I am the only one in our group who even tries inverts. All of mine are dismount gainers.
