New boat break in

No matter what you do when breaking in an engine (or even after it is broken in), never power up hard, or hit rev limiter until it is at running temperature. Lighting up a cold engine is the worst thing to do.

I think the motors are pretty stout and there would have to be an existing problem regardless of breakin method for somthing to break down, might as well find out about it sooner rather than later; warranty could be a concern though if not properly broken in. I think an important part of break in is the transmission which is the weak link on these boats. The tranny should be well broken in before heavy load. I would be more concered with the tranny than the motor. I will try to follow the manual as close as possible.

Since when is the tranny the weak link? I can remember a handful of trannys ever having problems, but I can sure as heck remember alot more motors going in their first year of service.
