I thought a friend of mine was insane when he bought an X80 back in 2007 for $110k. Now you can’t get a ProStar for that.

All good advice. Next cold start key up 2 or 3 times before starting and see if that changes anything. -

The suggestions from Justgary sound like the best thing to check. The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) only richens, or leans, the fuel when the throttle is moved (especially when it is moved quickly), and should not impact cold starting. The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor does affect starting by richening fuel when the engine is cold, and leaning fuel when the engine is hot. MEFI4 ECT value default is -49 degrees F when it is disconnected which would make warm/hot starting more difficult (the opposite of your issue), so that is also not likely the problem. -

on a positive note, all of the SP mechanics were promoted to the finance department when Tommy's took over. -

Yeah, 35x12.5s on a wet ramp and a heavy boat - find someone with a better tow vehicle.

Test the fuel pressure. Change the cap and rotor. The wires too, if they are more than about five years old. When you sprayed the throttle body, did you also get the side passage where the IAC lives? -
not sure id enjoy the getting dragged option lol and yupp its 35x12.5 tires So if i know im not going to use it for a few days - take it out of the water, let it dry, clean it a bit, and launch next time i take it out thanks

MC's have looked like budget boats to me lately, the tower they offer just ruins the whole package

Double edged sword. it's hard to afford anything without a job. If the companies that folks in middle America work for can't sell the stuff they make because buyers are sitting on the sidelines waiting for those items to get cheaper, then employees loose their income. Whether milk costs $5 or $2, can't buy it with $0.
-
Ah - I'll double you and give em 70k clealry the better deal take mine.

I got that a week ago😁😁

Ya we need a healthy dose of deflation though so middle America can afford groceries and basic items again.
-
My offer is $35k for a X star.
-
This is why deflation is so problematic. Does anybody want to make an offer this week, when they can wait a month and make a lower offer? You only know where the bottom is in hindsight.

I bought a used Malibu in CT about 10 years ago. A Crew member looked at it for me (just one reason this site is awesome). I had UShip tow it here without issue. I had the owner send me copies of the title, his Drivers License, registration, insurance card, etc. The house where the boat was for inspection was the same address. All the data matched. I decided to go with my gut and mail a cashier's check and it worked fine. These days not sure i'd do that again, LOL.

The fire sale is accelerating across the boating industry. Check out this Instagram ad from MC today...

I know some of you guys have bought & sold boats out of your home state, couple questions on logistics. How did you handle the payment / receiving so both parties were protected? Shipping- did most of you just hire someone off Uship to pull the boat on its own trailer? Anyone have it put on a flatbed trailer, so you don't put all the wear & tear on your trailer & boat? That would seem the preferable way. Thanks

I recently had a brake dragging a little, to the point I could just feel it with tow vehicle (Toyota Fortuner 2.8L turbo diesel). That rim & hub after 30km (20 miles) was noticably warm to touch but could still easily keep hand on it. Tandem trailer. The other braked hub and the unbraked hubs all just slightly warm. Like skin temp. I locked out the brakes and drove the remaining 140km (90miles), checking temp several times. All four remained at just above skin temp. I think the alloy wheels help disapate heat.

I have 2 questions on the 2023 Malibu Screens / Operating system: 1. How does one set the time? Mine is an hour fast. For the life of me, I cant figure out how to adjust. I can find the daylight savings time toggle, which doesn't have any effect. 2. Is the post below still the current best practice for installing Spotify locally and downloading playlists? Up until now I have tasked my kids with installing this, but they apparently have failed. This might be a big opportunity to to flex my "dad knowledge"!

Thought there was a couple others pointed out throughtout these pages as well but I wasn't keeping track.

@Timmo I occasionally ski behind a Stejcraft powered by a 115hp Yamaha 2 stroke. The wake is unreal. So minimal and what there is is very soft.

Like topic states. With throttle in neutral it will cough and sputter, no start. Crack open the butterfly a bit and it roars to life. After warm up, it fires up easily with a quick flick of the key and doesn't miss a beat all day long. Sprayed throttle body cleaner. New plugs. Previous owner replaced the tps. I am thinking something is out of calibration. With butterfly open its getting the air it needs. I noticed another thread that a user switched out his battery cables for 0awg. Mine are 2 awg. Maybe weak spark? Tps out of adjustment?
