    Tommys vs Malibu

That's exactly what they do, it's more than an oil change. It's to document the trans/Vdrive aren't wearing excessively after initial break in, that alignment is good, that motor mounts are right, etc.
  3. I would think it is an Indmar part as opposed to a GM part.

  5. Me again... So, the shipper heads out, and, careful fellow he is, checks the rig after about 50 miles. Oops. Hot hubs. Back to the broker, who takes it to a tire joint; shipper goes on to other adventures, mebbe back in a couple weeks or so. Sigh. To quote Emily Latella, "It's always something!" But, in 2013, after over a year's work on our Morgan 461 sailboat on which we lived and cruised, I called it the Shake-and-BreakDown cruise, as literally every stop resulted in a problem which prevented our moving on without remedying whatever problem it was which arose. So, no biggie; even if it's new bearings, and I've asked for Bearing Buddies to be put on at the same time, we'll have it soon enough. However... (You knew I'd get there, right?) We don't need any form of tower since the boat comes with a Skylon pole. Which means that the extra-large bimini required by the son's wife has no place to live - and likely would have to be dropped to use the pole, to boot, as its strain relief is via a cable to the bow, with a strap over the sides, and a clip on the eye. I expect the aft-mounted Skylon isn't tall enough to avoid contact with the bimini if it's any taller than the windshield-ish. Musing: On Flying Pig (the aforementioned sailboat) we had a very large bimini, as well as full enclosure windows, making foul weather interesting rather than uncomfortable. We aren't voyaging in this boat, but for cooler weather, having some form of enclosure, or even just an added-height windshield, might be nice, when we figure out the bimini. The boat has the center air dam under the folding center windshield... Which brings me to the point: Has anyone done a free-standing bimini with a Skylon, particularly with a Sunscape 21 (or Wakesetter, as the configuration would be the same)? And, in a thread long ago, and far away, I'd asked for gunwale and front-of-windshield spreads, in order to figure out the size of the tower I'd need to order. That's now moot, but the circumstances are the same, as that likely would be where the bimini bows would mount. Stupid me, I neglected to bring a tape measure to my survey - because I was focused on seeing into difficult spaces and got a flamethrower flashlight and a mirror, only - to make those measurements myself. And the boat's apparently not yet back at the broker's as we've heard nothing from him, or I'd ask him to measure. So, adding another beg to my askit, would someone measure the centerline of the gunwale-gunwale distance behind the windshield and the deck in front of the windshield on a similar boat? And the distance between those points fore/aft? TIA, as this group is KILLER for newbies like me. So much that I ordered another long sleeved promo shirt to proclaim to those who didn't see the sticker(s) on the cars enthusing over this site ☺ L8R Skip

Ya I called to schedule my 10hr service and they said they are not taking appts for it and to just drop it off and wait in Que. I said I’m not comfortable leaving it overnight and will wait and help or at least pick it up same day, but they didn’t seem to like that idea and I got nowhere. I’m only at 4hrs so far and it’s cold here for a bit in MI so have a little time but feel I’m gonna have to got there in person and put my foot down a bit. Frankly, I find this mandatory 10hr service quite annoying as I can do it at home in less time than it’s gonna take pulling it out of the lake and trailing and relaunching all to be in warranty compliance for a simple job I could prove I did myself with parts receipts. I guess they want to look things over and make sure they are breaking in properly, but I am skeptical much of that actually happens anyway.

Monsoon 350 SS engine Mefi 6 Refurbished by Jasper 2020 August very low hours under 100hrs I guess. Complete running unit. ECU, manifolds raw water pump transmission oil cooler etc. Motor starts, and runs (see video on drop box link below) engine plate serial numbers photos included and email from Jaspers confirming the date they sold it. Will not include the separate fuel pump added to just to check it runs. Only missing parts are a return lower cooling pipe (temporary one for now) and one clamp for the exhaust outlet please see photos . This engine was swapped out for a diesel immediately after buying the boat a Wakesetter VLX 2013 from USA. (Gas is very expensive in Hong Kong) it was then covered and stored. I had space in my container when I moved to the US from Hong Kong so I decided to bring the engine home. Engine was refurbished August 2020 Jaspers USA and boat was delivered April 2020 to HK so no time for many hours. I have not been able to look at the ECU history and have no other record. Basically ready to drop in with all the replacement parts. Unit sold as seen is in Dayton OH. Photos and video on Dropbox link. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/kr17q01jszfbr9cvwqfxa/h?rlkey=cbtjxnsf8dps8aedcwgnjnryo&dl=0

I dunno about hearsay. There was a pic posted on in one of the FB groups that clearly showed a sign on a door stating the store was locked out.

    SOON!!

I went and had a look. Not really surprising, as in the late 90s/early oughts, my boots for the 72" custom HO ski seen earlier (and which apparently has been teleported elsewhere, as all attempts to get a response from the other son who - at one time - had it in his basement) were over $100 each, but getting 'real' boots would triple the cost of that ski. I'm not ready to spend a grand on a ski - ever, let alone before I prove that I can do it again...

Yea.......I hear that........but they've had mine since the last week of February.
  14. Any good ideas on where to find a used replacement fuel rail. We've checked all the normal places and come up empty.
  15. Plug with the yellow/black and black wires is for the neutral safety switch. Plug with the tan/black and grey wires is for the transmission temperature sensor.

  17. I did not know that. DHM out of Sac is who I remember. The guy i met, I did not feel was old enough to be building trailers in the 90’s. Maybe he bought it out.
  18. SBT trailers were under a ton of Malibu’s in the 90’s and into the 2000’s. when Malibu was in the Central Valley here they might have been the standard trailer for boats manufactured on the west coast. I had 2 SBT trailers and they performed well for me.
  19. I see you are out of Seattle. This guy is local to me. I ran into him at a service station a while back. He seemed very knowledgeable. You might try and give him a shout https://www.sbtrailers.com

    Power Wedge Not Moving

What are the 2 Phillips screws holding? The brush gear plate? I agree with justgary. Use a meter to check from the leads to the braids. We're not done yet!

After the conversation I had today. I would not leave anything at a Tommy’s location right now. From what I can read from posts on here and conversations I have had. Tommy’s is not paying leases, in response owners of the property are locking them out. THIS IS TOTAL HEARSAY! But there is no way in hedoublehockeysticks I would leave my boat at any Tommy’s dealership right now YMMV!! Take your chances if you like. I am in the Central Valley.

    Motor rebuild

I put a ZZ4 cam in mine during a rebuild. Runs great but spark plugs say it is running rich. Way better than running lean. No reprogramming.
  23. I have a set of rebuilt injectors sitting on my shelf, interested?
  24. I had this problem last year on my monsoon. I just rolled the area circled in red around a 6" bench grinder. Doesn't take much work. Kinda messes up the injector but you can't see that. Used a caliper to check the diameter. Doesn't affect sealing. The metal lathe should work great.
  25. John is right, they were purchased by Lippert. It’s actually worth a call, they still build for Centurion. I will say though, I reached out last fall looking for something for my 2008 trailer and I never got a response.
  26. Same, who knows maybe the next time I need new injectors someone will make ones that fit!
