Low Idle on Sporty
justgary replied to waterskiercu's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
I would guess that an idle problem is related to either a vacuum or fuel leak. You could try spraying some starter fluid around the base and seams of the carb with the engine idling to see if you get a bump in RPM. Fuel leaks may be harder to deduce, but double-checking the float level is a great place to start. -

I have an 02 Sportster and have been having carb issues as well. Your carb is likely a Holley 4160. I can't for the life of me get my carb to idle consistently or run well in low gear despite a rebuilt a few years ago. Just ordered a new one from Holley two days ago. Luckily, if you need a new carb, the 4160 is on sale from $900 down to $625! -

I believe if an Indmar your carb will be like this one: idle speed adjustment is done via screw 175/176 in diagram. Google Holley carb and lots of info at your fingertips. -
An OG Malibu Owner's first launch of a "New" Malibu
Five Cent Worth replied to EchelonMike's topic in General Discussion Area
Great looking boat and set up. Congrats on the new purchase! You are going to find yourself loving all the new tech and features! (I will spare the jokes on the Kent St flag....Can't read, can't write....LOL. MAC educated from OH here, as well ...) I have never pulled my bags. My boat is dry racked - so I may be less susceptible to water / rain and all. I am thinking in all four boats we have owned, the depth finder has been good and never needed calibration. Our dealer does an AWESOME job in putting ten hrs on them before delivering. I.E. all these types of things are worked out prior to me pulling away. -

It's not all bad. Patrick Industries stock went over $100/share back in January while things were slow. Started a steep increase in October last year while the RV industry was really slow. Can't rule them all out.

OBD engine code reader wakesetter 2014 lsv23
csleaver replied to Lsv23malibu's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
The most affordable way to check for active or previously active engine fault codes is by using the Viper screen setup menu in the boat. After turning on the dash power button and entering the start code, press the Setup button at the right of the Viper screen, press the down arrow to scroll to the bottom of the list, and use the Enter button to select Active Engine Faults or Inactive Engine Faults to see the SPN FMI fault code numbers. Otherwise, go to Rinda.com to purchase Diacom or the TechMate Pro. -

My understanding is that the Lewisville store (formally Waterski America) could not order any parts as of yesterday (Wednesday).
-
Go get it NOW! Tell him to leave it out!!
-
Very sad, I hope you get your boat out from this mess. Some of you are going to be without boats while the receiver grinds out who owns what.
-
The Lewisville location? I’m noticed they had most of the boat inventory between the 2 locations.

I just got a call at 8:30 PM from the service manager at the Tommy's dealership in Fort Worth. He said they are locking their doors tomorrow by noon and I needed to come pick up my boat or it would be locked up for an indefinite amount of time. I will be there when it opens!! I just HOPE it opens. So now I have a boat (or I damn well better have one!) under warranty (2022) at the start of the season that needs a new surf gate actuator and no way to get it. Anyone around DFW got info on warranty work?

Where can I get affordable reader -
I think I'll just go to the bar and buy some pull tabs rather than doing anything with rec vehicle stocks.

I'd say current lift sales are as a market whole are below 2018-2019 levels and continuing to fall... Budget mfgs doing significantly better than higher end mfgs on unit sold qty. Most mfgs are complaining they have more employee head counts with less $sales amounts and less unit qtys sold. Basically it takes more people to do the same and less Vast Majority of lift sales are tritooon bunk setups if that means anything..

Ways to Prevent Fishermen From Damaging Boat?
TeamsterMark replied to OliverKlozoff's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
I plugged our red lion pump into a remote control outlet by the boat. This in turn is connected to a well placed sprinkler that I turn on from the house and soak these inconsiderate jerks when they get to close to our boat. - Yesterday

2020 MALIBU SCREEN FLICKERING
csleaver replied to jb2's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
Low voltage or voltage drop from loose or corroded connections are the most common cause of electrical problems. Check your battery cable connections and disconnect then reconnected the connections on the screens under the dash. A loose connection at the starboard helm breaker panel near the helm seat or loose wires at the ground buss under the dash could also cause intermittent electrical issues. -

I’m having problems with my screens on my 2020 25 LSV FLICKERING. My boat will not turn on. My screen froze while I was on the lake so I turned the battery off and back on and the screens won’t turn on and keep flickering. I replaced the batteries, ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED

Coop, it’s always an adjustment changing industries. I’ve done it twice in 30ish years. Good luck in the new venture, hope you stick around here though as a Malibu fan.

Fuel Injectors for 320HP Monsoon 5.7L engine
justgary replied to MoonDawg's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
I'm not sure I would use 23#/H injectors in place of 24#/H in an engine with no feedback. My understanding is that the fuel map is intentionally rich, but I don't know how much. Running the engine lean is asking for trouble. -
Sell me your viper 400m and mc35 for testing
Surfing replied to Jbcain's topic in Stereo Info & How-To
Not quite what you're asking, but you can get an MBB400M on GLS and an infinity KAPMC40 (looks to be the same as the MC40) on there as well, both for cheap. -
Could I get you to email the leadership at my company this.
-
Almost completely derailing the thread, but sorta related...The 5 year MBUU stock price looks pretty crappy. I bought 10 shares a year ago or so just to say I still owned some Malibu at $55 per share, which seemed fairly smart at the time since it had peaked at $80+. Now it is trading just over 30 and I think about to go lower.
