Sell me your viper 400m and mc35 for testing

Is this for you to be able to properly tune your rev 10’s to be louder than rev 12’s?

    Tommys vs Malibu

I really feel for the employees of Tommy’s dealerships! They didn’t roll the dice on the chances of riches but are still left caught up in this mess of uncertainty as if they did. There are a lot of real, hard working, loyal people who are sitting at home this evening, not knowing what to do to feed themselves or their families in the near future. Uncertainty is the hardest thing to face. I pray for their comfort and peace during this time of uncertainty.

I assume so. They hold each of their California dealerships under different entities, i.e Tommy’s California Fresno, LLC; Tommy’s Stockton, LLC; etc.

I said they’re fine… and “IF” they need bailout then your tax dollars will cover it. Frankly Their larger issue will possibly be with amount of CRE and not this silly boat ordeal.

Sorry, was referencing Hulks comment to a bailout.
  8. hi i will try to give that a try when back at lake. I was wondering if on the 2022 A22 - does the lake temp read from paddle sensor or from this combo depth/temp sensor.
  9. Launched the new-to-me 2022 Malibu 23 LSV this weekend! Picked her up at Lake Martin on Saturday morning, and was on the dock at Norris by 4 PM and that includes putting on my registration numbers and doing a prop swap! :-) Not too bad! Anyway, I have had multiple OG boats (2002, 2005, 2008) so this is my first foray into the "Surfgate and Screens" era. The boat launch was uneventful...she fired instantly, came up to operating temp, all systems go, and she ran great. And the 6600 lbs hydrohoist lifted her with no issues. However, I do have some questions for the experts on these new boats: 1. The boat has Sumo 650 lbs PNP bags. They were nasty inside an out. Very easy to remove and clean, but is this just something I should plan as a part of my normal clean up process? I removed them and found all of the plugs in the glovebox just in case someone hits fill while they are out. There were 3 connections - i assume drain, fill and vent. 2. Either my new boat depth finder is wrong or my OG boat was wrong. :-) Is there any calibration settings? If not I will crawl around the bilge and check the transducer and make sure it looks OK. Anyone know where it is on a 23 LSV? 3. My drive back to Norris took be across some crazy roads (very bumpy). When I opened the forward facing seat and pulled the cover out, the amplifier "wall" was leaning over a few inches at the top. Looks like it is held on at the top by one screw, less than an inch long. The screw goes through a small metal tab, through some carpet and into a little bit of fiberglass on the inside of the companionway wall. Found the screw, reinserted...stripped. Already repairing the new boat, LOL. The proper way to fix it is probably to remove the companionway padded panel, drill a small hole, and thru-bolt it. Anyone have this happen? Any recommended fix? I could also fill the existing hole with some marine adhesive and put the same screw back in...but that might be hard to remove in the future. I do have a riv-nut gun as well and could probably press in a fitting into the hole. Thanks all! A few pics below.
  10. I would check the connections before deciding to swap the sensor.

    2023 23LSV Prop swap report

I just put my 2022 23 LSV with the M5 in the water for the first time. On the test drive, I noticed the same thing - that the boat felt under-propped. I couldn't see what prop was on the boat when I test drove it before buying. Once I bought it and got the window sticker, I saw it was the same as yours (3537). This thread was so helpful for me - I ordered the 2805 about a month ago. Before launching yesterday, I swapped to the 2805 and wow, what a different boat. So quiet and turns much fewer revs. With 100% fuel and two people it easily hit low 40s too. I have the Sumo 650 PnP bags installed and it easily got on plane with full wedge and all ballast full. Really excited about how well it performed! Bring on summer!
  13. You may be having a problem with the cooling system air drain. There is a small rubber hose connected to a small air drain pipe on the top of the engine intake manifold near the front port side of the engine. The hose goes from the air drain pipe to a through-hull fitting located just above the port exhaust outlet at the transom. If the hose, air drain pipe, or transom fitting becomes blocked, then air gets trapped in the cooling passages and often causes the engine to over heat at idle speed. Once the engine is run above 2000 RPM the air is often purged and will return to normal temperatures, but at idle speed the engine can over heat if the purge system is blocked. You should be able to see a stream of water coming out of the small metal through-hull fitting located just above the port exhaust tip when you are standing behind the boat and running the engine out of the water using a hull motor flush. If you don't see the stream of water, then the air purge is probably blocked. The thermostat adaptor housing is the rectangular piece on the left of the photo with all the hoses and 90 degree plastic fittings connected to it. The green arrows in the picture I found weren't drawn by me, they were already there for another purpose.
  14. So I found the Airmar sensor under the hatch by driver seat. It is down there with a few pumps inc bilge.. bit of tight space! The sensor says it provides water temp and depth. Interestingly the lake water temp is working fine but depth is totally blank. Left boat on for quite some time and it wouldn’t register a reading. are these relative easy to diy swap?

I didn’t mention “bailout”, my thought is that bankers work toward quarterly reports and annual numbers much like everyone else. If the boat depression is significant statistically they will be more active than if it wasn’t significant. Look at the call report Executive Summary 5 quarter trends. Or, if you want to take a deep dive, pull up the 2023 UBPR (uniform banking performance report) for M&T. Link to FDIC reports
  16. Thanks Csleaver, when running my boat it's running hotter than normal, especially at idle. I have replaced the impeller and when doing so the old one wasn't in bad shape. I have also pulled a few hoses off, one where the intake water goes into the transmission and another one where it goes into the small hoses/pipes by one of the exhausts. I was thinking maybe there would be debri in there etc.... but everything in those to areas was clear. So my next best guess is the thermostat. I will try and post a picture but in the one you posted with the green arrows, those arrows it appears all point to different hoses, the second arrow top to bottom on the left of the picture is the thermostat in that metal rectangle housing that hose turns 90 degrees into?

    Adjusting trailer torsion bar

Yes you can reindex the torsion bars to get a little extra height. It’s not hard at all. I had to replace 1 a few years back and it took me longer to reprime the brakes than to replace the whole assembly. 2 wrenches, a dead blow hammer and some penetrating oil was all it took. That said it might be even easier to go with the solution above or bring your trailer to a welding shop to have those bigger rollers welded on.

Lots of them. Furniture, clothing, anything sold on tv to name a few. Whatever it takes for people to feel like they are getting a great deal they can’t pass up. Here in town, Nebraska furniture mart changed the verbiage from MSRP to SRP so they can have full control of the “great deals” they give.

    Malibu Android Screen

Your comment about this tablet being useful for changing the light colors is spot on. My husband wanted this 2023 M220 for the wave. Well it does put out a damn good wave. The tablet leaves a lot to be desired!!

    Adjusting trailer torsion bar

Had the same issue. I opted not to raise the torsion bars as I needed to store the boat in the garage over the winter. Made these up. Total bolt on and they have worked great.

  23. It may be hard to find a video or pictures of a thermostat replacement procedure for that engine online, because it is not a very common repair. Just curious, why does yours need replacement? Front of L96 engine with the T-stat housing on the left.

This industry msrp pricing is just plain stupid. 30% off msrp deals as standard, why? Just reduce sticker by 20% and give another 0-5% off like a luxury car dealer does in general, 8% if it’s old stock. what other industry routinely sells at 20-30% off? Is this to make people think they are getting a “deal?”
  25. I would love to post a pic here to make sure I'm thinking it's the correct thing but I'm not sure how to do that? Csleaver any chance you can post a pick or lead me to a YouTube video showing it and maybe changing it. I believe it won't be a hard job I just don't want to take apart something I shouldn't.

I’m with you, this is the way it SHOULD be run. But sadly this isn’t how modern corporations do business anymore. All they care about is stock price. So the only thing that will incentivize them to buyback those boats and control the market price will be the risk of a long term stock price slump if they don’t buy them back. It would be a tough pill to swallow to take all that money they’ve been paid already for the boats in Tommy’s possession and give a lot of it back to them (M&T) just to keep market prices inflated for a few seasons. I could definitely see them keeping the money, cutting output at the factory the next couple years and increasing their incentives to dealers to compensate for their losses while the pricing evens back out over the next few years. In the long run many of their dealers will end up reselling the cheap boats from M&T. Someone will get a good price from M&T, then it will get traded in and resold 10 more times. If Malibu wins their case I doubt they worry too much about the extra boats M&T is holding. MBUU shares will get hit the hardest if they are found liable for the damages Tommy’s did to M&T.

Yeah this method seems to work if you’re part of the upper middle class and above. In my anecdote the guys parents were decently wealthy by todays standards and had multiple houses that he and his siblings could live in while they built their businesses and waited out the housing crisis. I know a few guys that live with their parents and own expensive fishing boats and do so in much less glamour and style but seem to make it work so who knows 😂.
