Agree. What's the attraction of slalom towboat pickleforks and triangles? Weird!

There's options for which gauges. Call or email them. I brought a GPS speedo and 4 in 1 multigauge kit. This one https://skiboatpartsonline.com/TRD-Conversion-Kit-Medallion-MDC-1600-1/Medallion-Conversion-Kit-Malibu-TRD-1208-MAL-PP then brought a PerfectPass Stargazer upgrade kit direct from PerfectPass a few months later when funds allowed -

So if Tommy’s goes belly up later this year, does Malibu contract out warranty and service work to competing dealers in the area? Im generally pretty DIY competent and plan to service my own boat, but if a $5k screen goes out how does that get warranty service?

Why would any of you think M&T is ready to wheel and deal yet? This just happened and the boating season is just beginning.. Wait till end of season ..well actually later when they get desperate and want to write off their losses! The real deals are far off ie the 50-70% off ones They have to make 4%?? Ha banks would die to make 2-3% right now with massive deposit flight due to Uncle Sam tax time just hitting.. banks are mostly already insolvent I'd sit back and wait.. I feel bad for Malibu dealerships this is going to steal a lot of sales away that they won't be able to match in the near future.. as those dealerships continue to finance their sales price will rise causing problems for 2025 model price vs unsold 2024 prices. This is NOT an insignificant amount of inventory given the current economic conditions.. if current trends continue this could equate to 50% reduction in Malibu unit sales since Tommys was already 33% during the good times...

Ignition breaker tripping, unplug rear view camera, 2016-2020
csleaver replied to JasonK's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
There is a fuse/relay box on the top of the engine, under the plastic engine cowling, which has a starter circuit fuse and relay. The shift/throttle controller must be in neutral for the relay to energize and send voltage to the starter solenoid during a start request from the ECM. -

True! I will get stereo sorted but for now just need to know how I can start it. Is there a starter main breaker somewhere? -
Screens go blank after initial power up
iominject posted a topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
I’ve been fighting a no start problem the last three years. 2017 22mxz. Hit the start stop button and it turns off the boat fine. Then it won’t restart without powering down and turning batteries off then back on and then it may or may not work. Sometimes resetting the software will fix it. If that doesn’t work I’ll reload the software from the usb flash drive. I did that today and now when I power up the screens light up for a second then go black. Then nothing else happens. The volume wheel control is the only thing lit up. Everything else is dead. I looked under the dash and the two power modules red lights are on. Batteries are new and charged up. - Yesterday

UPDATE: so took to dealer. Found an abandoned/removed stereo amp from a former owner had a positive/negative power wires shorting out. Fixed by taping up and holding them apart. I need to follow up and remove them completely though. Next: finally get the boat out today on the water, runs great until I use the stereo. It runs a few minutes then trips the breaker again. I do that twice and then I reset ignition breaker and then it won’t start. Starter won’t even try and engage. From either the start switch or the emergency key switch. All the boat screens worked but no start. Is there a breaker for the starter or engine breaker somewhere? -
Power loading is illegal in my county and most of Idaho, I believe.
-
Yeah power loading seems to vary depending on the ramp for me. Either way, you should be able to load the boat just about anyway that gets it on the trailer without doing that much damage. I would be pissed if I were you. There’s gotta be something metal or a rock in the carpet of that bunk.

Ok, so, maybe not relevant to a surf boat, but I have my rudder tuned so you can't let go of the wheel on a plane. I like to drive the boat straight when towing and you can't do that as effectively when the boat "floats" with a neutral rudder tune (and sure path numbers confirm this for me at least). So I would not exactly say that wheel tension when towing is a design defect. But a tunable rudder is the solution and lets you adjust it however you want. Both Nautique and MC have tunable rudders on the ski boats. I am pretty sure Nautique has them on their surf boats as well but I am not sure if they would retrofit on a Malibu.
-
Depends on the ramp. At my ramp if I put the bunks that deep the bow is under the roller. Wish my ramps were that flat.
-
Exactly. Look at that bunk, it's a crap design and only touches the hull at the very leading edge. I always put the trailer in deep and the wife floats on. Power loading isn't necessary unless you have an incapable tow rig and can't get in deep enough. I've got almost 300 hours on this boat all trailering it as a first time boat owner, and never scratched the hull like this, but the dealer does in two launches tuning the rudder? Complete BS... Get that lowest step in the water and you don't have to show off to get the boat on the trailer.

Westland Sunbrella cover - or Westland Sharkskin Supreme if you are more on a budget. I would double check that there pattern is for same tower. https://www.coveranything.com/boat-covers/?kw=Sharkskin&img=sharkskin&desc=boat-westland&lp=custom&campaign=9713411737&content=99832553912&keyword=b&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwxLKxBhA7EiwAXO0R0ILGH9dYMSRkEMhj92kX7F2kIp_azUsVJszReKuTSIkPCQ4CvXzyyhoCyVQQAvD_BwE&find=2003-malibu-response-21-lxi-631930

2022 Axis a22 - where is depth finder?
TommyTuna posted a topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
Hi - got my boat in water today from dealer and depth readings were blank and then would show 120ft (lake is max 20ft) then go blank again. I wanted to check wiring and make sure all is well. Where can I find the transducer in a 2022 a22? -
There has to be a staple, lag bolt ,screw etc sticking up through the wood , probably didn’t drop the trailer deep enough and voila!!

Please and thanks. Nine one three 8903647

Lots of us power load weekly and never get deep gouges. HOW?
-
Hi @janine22, how did it go with the 350? If you ended up with that size of motor in the 23 lsv, how did it perform for you? at this altitude? was it able to surf well with the boat loaded with people and extra ballast?

They respond quickly to email questions. Not sure but I think they do have various kits and one may well plug and play for you. I replaced all. On mine, the other gauge was the speedo and the upgrade turned it into GPS, rather than the pitot type. It was worth that alone. As far as the install, knowing how to do it now, I could literally do it in 5 minutes easy. -
M6 all the way for sure. There would have to be a lot else about that boat that I don’t like to choose the 450. It was a good option during its time but compared to the m6 it’s no contest.

Compression Test results - Thoughts??

Supercharged and turbo motors are typically lower compression.
