Unless you plan to sell before paying it off who cares? It isn't an investment.

@23LSVOwner if your source has the wiring diagram for a 2005 Malibu Sunscape 23LSV I would be most interested.

Malibu GX tower warning message
Malibutech96 posted a topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
Working on a 2022 Malibu M220 with a GX tower throwing a warning message. The warning message reads GX tower is down even though my tower is up. I can only get the message to pop when I’m out running the boat, today was very calm no chop and the message was popping. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.-

OK, got the wheels off today. Below is the back one on the starboard side. Here I am spinning it to listen for bearing issues. All I heard was the break pads rubbing a bit. Here I am checking on the loose torsion arm: After a nice struggle, I was able to tighten the arm bolt. 15/16 inch breaker bar and box wrench, plus 2-foot pipe to put some torque on it. I was able to replace the vault cap that was missing.

Nope. Paid cash as Covid lockdown started. My boat was caught in the factory shut down.

Is anyone here worried about their loan (assuming you have one) on a new or recent model year being underwater with this fiasco?

Port side seat back adjustment
gunville replied to tgaffin's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
One of my Malibu seats does the same thing. I can get it to reset by pushing the seat horizontally toward the bracket when flat vs pushing down. I have added it to the list of warranty items for my dealer to look at. -
Try Elbert’s, google Elbert’s boats and a link will pop up.

No, just commenting that weight is not the only parameter for tracking stability. I was expecting a loss in tracking stability with less weight and was surprised at the result until I determined the CG had moved a noticeable amount forward.

I was able to buy gas and fill it quickly, prob quicker than at marina using that siphon hose. Thing works GREAT. Thanks for that tip. Also those stupid a** gas cans need to be modified a little to take out the safety bits. Theres a simple Youtube on it, you you do that the cans are simple to transport and use the siphon it flows at like 9 gal a minute its crazy...

No Im not at the boat but i will next week. Cant this question be answered by someone who knows these ? The 2019 Malibu LSV units are all the same, someone should know if its got bias voltage. Im sure it does, like i said this same GPS worked fine on a 2016, theres no different in screens between those 2 boats.

White Smoke from Exhaust
footndale replied to IndianaMalibu's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
I don't think it is that on usual for a little white smoke on first run of the year. But if you are really worried. 1. Do a compression test. If not happy with results. 2. Leak down test. Run it this weekend and look at gauges. -
If all the hubs were the same +-10F, then I’d run with it. I’d still make sure the noise is from the center cap or not.

Auto lift is really only applicable for wakeboarding. It is not applicable for surfing. t helps you get over the hump and get a wakeboarder up to 20-21 mph. If you wakeboard with heavy ballast, it helps a lot (at least it did for us). It could potentially be used for tubing, wakeboarding, or skiing with younger children to actually reduce the wake for them at lower speeds. In general, the faster you go the longer and shorter the wake gets. The more weight you add the shorter and steeper the wake gets. Bow weight also helps with a longer but smaller wake. On our T23 we generally went with as much ballast as possible, no wedge, and 11.6 for good size people. The T23 really liked speed. 10.8 would just be too slow. For larger heavier people I added wedge. For smaller lighter people I would reduce ballast to get the wake as long as possible but keep enough height and push based on their experience and board.

I’m not following you. Comparing your echelon’s traits to new slalom boat?

Wattage output is not constant and it is not linear. So 25% volume is not 75W rms to each speaker and 100% does not necessarily mean 300W to each speaker. With that said, that amp powering two pair of 8" coaxials does not scare me, but thats a ton of potential power. Your tuning will have to be spot on or you will blow a speaker or four. Nothing wrong with your proposed cabin speaker amp pairing. Again, your tuning will need to be perfect. Those 6.5" will tap out at about 125W and the 8" about 150W. I would also consider their mid-level 6 chnl amp. Power the four 8" on chnls 5 & 6 and the four 6.5" on chnls 1-4.

IndianaMalibu started following White Smoke from Exhaust
-
Hi everyone, I have been following the crew since buying my 99 Response in 2015. This is my first post. I have a new issue that presented itself when getting the boat ready to go this season. I started it up on the fake-a-lake in the driveway and everything went great. Gauges all reading normal and sounded normal. Boat came up to temp well and was holding steady so I decided to give it a little throttle to see how it responded. It responded well, however, that is when white smoke started coming out of the exhaust. When I pulled back to idle, smoke went away. This was definitely more than steam. There was also a little smoke coming from the throttle body after I shut her down. My immediate thought was water is getting in the cylinders. I took it to the Malibu dealer the next day and they were intent on convincing me nothing is wrong with my boat. All they did was set it in the water and revved the engine after it came up to temp. I am not convinced all is well. Also, I am the 3rd owner and the boat has a little over 700 hours on it. Here is everything I have done: Spark Plugs, oil change (old oil looked normal), impellar looks good (was replaced before last season), I scoped the bores and found some corrosion at the bottom of cylinders 5 and 7 (maybe other cylinders have it but my cheap Lowes borescope was hard to manipulate). Plug Wires were done last year and still look good. I have a cap, rotor, fuel filter and trans fluid to do before I put it in the water (those were all done last season too). I am going to put it in the water this weekend and see what I think. I want to believe the dealer, but this just doesn't seem right. I would really appreciate any thoughts.

Wake therapy started following Upgrading amps on 2015 VLX 22 advise

Im looking for feedback on the plan below, theres alot of great tech guys here that can advise. Stock RF P500X2 has failed sending direct DC voltage to left side tower speakers, blowing speakers. I want to replace it with WS SynDX2.3 amp. giving 300 watts/speaker ( 4 icon 8) Icon 8 have peak 300 watt and 150 RMS Does this mean speaker will have 300 watts delivered from the amp all the time, or only when volume is high? Also when im at it, the RF P400X4 amp for 8 cabin speakers is only delivering 50 watts per speaker. There is 4- 8" M282 with 100 watts RMS and 200 watts peak and the 4- 6.5" are 75 watts RMS and 150 watts peak. I want to add WS Sinister SDX-4, this would up the watts to 170 watts per speaker. I know this will put some pressure on the 6.5" speakers, but were not blowing out the lake all day either. Its overkill, but can be ready for speaker upgrades down the road.

Kind of like recirculating ball steering and bias ply tires, keeps you on your toes. It would be a pretty good way to get drivers off their phones behind the wheel. @85 Barefoot - one interesting and nice outcome of discarding 400+ lbs off my ski tractor is improved tracking. The real reason is moving the center of gravity forward by a foot, the pitch difference at speed is noticeable.

LOL - yeah if that is your idea of a daily drive distance then definitely pay someone.

Wedge Position Sensor
Chill450f replied to afield's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
Yeah its on a pivot. I think the Volvo part number is 3861169 and that they take the white plastic piece off of it. It looks like it has that 7 sided nut below it. I ordered one and will see if it looks the same. Problem is they are also discontinued and $400-500 where I can find them. -
Looking for swim platform brackets
solorex replied to WeTheNorth's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
Use piano wire as said above. You can use a utility knife to "carefully" score/break the adhesive around the edges too. But do not try to pry it up initially you don't want to damage your gel coat. Gentle force, not brute force is the key. Once they're off 3M 5200 is still the product to use.- 28 replies

Mine is a two wire but it’s a 2008. I’m 90% sure it’s the same on a 2010 because it’s on the wedge pivot, right?
