My family owns a hardware store, and we used to make our own ropes and handles. After breaking several that resulted in bad crashes, we went back to purchasing them.

Most of them still own the real estate, so updating the signage/branding, signing a new dealer agreement with BU and getting back to doing what they love won't be a stretch for some.
I really doubt this. It would be extremely complicated and costly to unwind the company one bit at a time.

It’s the one I have. Get a few good wool pads that Velcro onto the backing plate. Discard as soon as they wear out.

this one will work well.
That polisher with the HF 7.5" wool pad and some Buff Magic (over several days listening to some good podcasts) did wonders on my old Nautique:

Shaft size is 1 1/4". If not a 17x17 prop, here's a link to the ACME 2805 prop that will likely be the best fit for your needs. https://www.wakemakers.com/products/acme-2805-propeller
Welcome and congrats on your new boat!
