      After fault SPN 65595 FMI 7 occurs on the MEFI5 ECM, the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will only turn off after 3 consecutive ignition/run cycles that the misfire diagnostic does not fail.  The misfire diagnosis only happens when the engine speed is between 600–6000 RPM, the ignition voltage is between 9–18 volts, and the throttle angle is steady or does not vary by more than approximately 5 percent.

      An ignition/run cycle (also known as a heat cycle) is when the engine is started and run while the engine coolant temperature (ECT) is below about 105 degrees F, the engine continues to run until the ETC goes above about 130 degrees F, then the engine is stopped and not restarted until the ECT is below about 105 degrees F again.  That needs to occur 3 times before the MIL will turn off.  

      Otherwise, a laptop with Rinda Diacom and the adaptor/CAN cable or Rinda TechMate can be connected to the Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC) and used to clear the fault code.

    • If I understand your situation correctly, You need to use a Tap and cut or clean the threads in the block and then install the new brass plug

      so I also noticed that it says these codes even if I unplug batteries for a minute and hook them back up, it will read this code without  the motor even running, just turning key forward. Is there a way to reset the codes and see if it comes up again?

    • Has anyone else had a problem with their screen not loading and just flickering on their 2020+ plus malibus? My boat screen froze while I was out, and now it won’t fully load it just shuts off and flickers. Any help is appreciated 

    • Hi, just purchased a 2004 boat had water leaking from the drain bolt in lower block on left side.

      Last owner definitely had issues with it as it was gasket sealed up only started leaking when engine got up to temperature.

      I removed Brass bolt, treads are stripped from the blot, also purchased new brass replacements unfortunately it won’t go in the tread in block itself looks eroded and not much tread to be seen. Any tips on direction to go??
