M235 - G Killer?

I got to look at one earlier this week. I was impressed by the attention to detail. I also liked the billet grab handles, etc. I really liked the way the breakers are done in this boat. As you look around you can fairly easily see where a lot of the extra dollars went. Absolutely none of these things will make a difference in wake/wave, but you can see a difference. I am not looking for a new boato for probably 5 years, but this would be at the top of my list if I were looking today.

My dealer has thiers parked next to a 25LSV, this thing litteraly dwarfs the 25LSV. It is huge,

I'm actually a little surprised that they didn't use a PDM for power distribution in the M235. The method in which they did the panel is nice, and much better than they used to be..... But a PDM monitors circuits much more accurately and is a lot cleaner for wiring and finish.

Except you wont be able to close the door will anything is plugged into the 12V outlets or the 110 outlets. This leaves the aluminum door swinging around.

You can also plug directly into the inverter itself, which is on the inside of the compartment.

And theres other 12V ACC sockets too. So then the ones in the door are for what then?

As long as it's not open while underway, I'm not sure I'd be that concerned.

The 110 is just the plug for the battery charger, right? I wouldn't be to worried about that one. You'll only have it plugged in when the boat is in storage.

And there are other 12v and USB plugs all over the boat. So it's not like these are your only options.

Just above the two 12V outlets, there is a double 110 from the inverter. Even with that shore charger outlet being recessed, look how that cord is 90'd just to clear the door. Plug a 12V cellphone plug in one of those 12V outlets and im sure that door wont close.

Even at anchor, that door is going to sway back and forth as the boat rocks on the water. You have to hold it closed to walk though there. The panel is not deep enough.

Look at the pic IXFE posted

It looks to me like there is a slot at the bottom for a cord to escape.

Right where the cord is in the pic. ICBW

Yes, I was in the blue boat posted earlier, yesterday. A slot for a cord is not the issue, the issue is the depth of the pocket. Most anything plugged in, is going to impede the closing of the door.

They give you a roll of gorilla tape to temporarily keep the door closed while underway, free of charge. Tape will last for multiple uses before needing to be replaced. Can be stowed in the glove box when not in use. Man I love gorilla tape, so many uses.

Seriously, you bring up a valid point. Can't really use the 110 inverter and keep the door closed with that setup. Not a huge deal but for that coin definitely feels like it was overlooked. Then again, trying to think of one time in last 8 years I needed a 110 outlet on the lake???

You guys find the tiniest things to pick at. The charger cord looks like it will clear pretty easily. I'm sure a blender or blow dryer cord would clear too if you just bend the wire a little. Nex thing you know someone will be complaining that there's no 220V to run their welder off of.

For $225k MSRP your dang right you have the right to be picky...very picky.

Whaaaa????? You've never had margaritas on the boat??? Amazing in 110 heat :)

I don't drink so I guess I will be one of the few who don't take advantage of a 110 on a wakeboard boat. We tend to use it more for water sports :) imagine that... I will buy a pontoon boat when I worry about making Margaritas (virgin or course) on the lake!

Easy solution...get a flat headed 3 prong extension cord..they are almost flush to the plug.

Then you can plug in 3 blenders...get the entire crew hammered and go to jail...

Personally im much more worried about the fuel needed for boat I have coming than if I can plug in a kitchen appliance.

We get margaritas at the local bars along the water. I have to run an inverter when we do the Christmas parade of lights. There are times when the water is too rough where it isn't worth the ride, then it becomes sand bar and hang out. Our rides are multi purpose, not only built for the hardcore rider, also has all the amenities for a party barge as well;)

Just to clarify...I don't knock anyone for having a cold one on the water, just did not do me any good. Infact, does not bother me if others are drinking. That 110 is never a bad thing, probably could find a super high powered air pump to blow up my tubes! I wonder if they will offer that for future Wakesetter boats? Or just keep it to the M235 line.

I did see an inverter like that on a 2016 22VLX, so I'm assuming....

Got to spend a few minutes crawling around the M235 today. Very nice boat, but nothing that blew me out of the water...maybe a water demo will change my mind. The big chucks of billet are not attractive or practical, especial guarding the engine??? No price on it and I didn't ask, I was told that Malibu has provided dealers with an options list than can be deleted on orders now. It did look sharp on the triple axle and I liked the color combo. Sorry, no pics...grabbed on off dealer FB.

Eddie, were you at the Raleigh show? I was helping Jimmy out all three days. If so, it's a bummer I missed you. I'll be helping him out at the Greensboro show on Saturday (all day). If you can, please drop by.

There is a 110 Charger on the bottom right. There are also two 110 plugs on the top fed from a power inverter. I was told it was big enough to run a blender. I never asked what the actual wattage rating the inverter was. We had the charger plugged in for the the whole show (3 days) this past weekend. Never had an issue with the door. We were using a regular outdoor extension cord.

Yeah, got there just after 1 PM and we made our rounds. Most likely I'll go the Greensboro show on Friday since it's right at my work, but maybe Saturday. Hope you guys had a good show, lot's of good looking boats in the PM booth!

This week is the Charlotte show and plan to ride over that way on Friday.

Not ever. What is 110 heat anyway?

:innocent:

I experienced 110 at Banks Lake early last summer. Cruising down the lake felt like someone had put a fan in a hot oven and was blowing the air into your face. It was only bearable cause we were on and in the lake all day. The walk from the cabins to the dock was brutal...
