Shade without a Bimini.

Any ideas how to create shade for my 5 month old baby girl. Got a 99 SSVLX with a Titan tower. I have a Bimini on order threw towerbiminis.com but it's going to be like 4 weeks before I get it.  Any ideas would be appreciated thanks

buy 2 board bags from inland surfer or where ever, and sew 4 Velcro straps to them. Mounts under the Bimini, whether it's up or down, provides shade, protects your boards, and way easier to use than the surf pockets!

Back in our run about days we used the crazy big beach towels clipped to the windshield and seat areas to make shade while they slept under the helm while anchored. If they are running around it is going to be harder to do. A sheet would be blogger and a lot easier to work with.

Thanks crew you guys never fail. Although some genius ideas. I think while sitting at the sandbar I will clamp a beach towel to the windsheild and other end to the tower. Hopefully my towel is big enough

If you're just looking for something to clamp/pin up when you're 'beaching', I would recommend something like this: OLEFIN MAT

It's a relatively inexpensive blanket that repels heat while letting a breeze through and can be used as a beach mat or ground cloth on the grass (think of it as a cloth tarp).

There are nicer versions of these available (EXAMPLE), but we just have a cheap one and it has come in extremely handy blocking the sun, sitting on at the beach and using as a 'rug' for our dogs and kids when we're spending the day outside. They're very easy to wipe dirt off of and throw in the washing machine - they just make a good all-around covering/blanket for the boat.

Looks like a good product. I may have to get one just to throw in the boat

After reading the descriptions and looking at what's available on Amazon (I didn't look elsewhere yet) I think I'd personally go with my EXAMPLE instead of the first link.

Despite the 'cheap' feel of ours, we really do find dozens of uses for it every year.

Just my $.02

Get a pack of these  Bimini Clips and clip a sheet onto handrails or the windshield frame until your bimini comes.  Then you'll still have them to hang stuff from your bimini when you get it.

All great ideas. However we met some friends and the sandbar and told them the situation. I used a towel clamped to tower until they arrived and they brought a doggie umbrella with a weighted base. Thing worked awesome and could move it around with the sun and raise and lower it. Obviously I can't wait for the Bimini but we have it figured out until then
