  1. Morning! I’ve got engine whine in stereo and checking to be sure engine ground is on separate battery from stereo/amp grounds. Any guesses on how I’d tell which ground is for which systems? Here are pics of my 2 batteries as they sit today. Thanks guys! https://www.dropbox.com/sh/iv602746kvevoln/AADWhWlgIvsSgzO-ZefrOPrua?dl=0
  2. I just purchased my 2017 22 MXZ and took it out for the first time last weekend. When I connect my iPhone with bluetooth, only the 2 starboard tower speakers work have sound. The fade, balance controls have no effect. When I connected with the USB input, everything seems to work. Equalizer controls, fade, balance, etc all seem to work fine. I'm not sure why the bluetooth would behave differently?? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
  3. I am the new owner of my first Malibu, a 2008 VTX, only taken it out twice but so far are over the moon with the boat. The stereo however is driving me crazy. It has the standard Sirius head unit with the usual MUX control, it has an upgraded Amp, with 6 speakers and a sub (all Rockford). The issue is the stereo just keeps going on off on off, sometimes every second sometimes minutes apart. Page 1 of the RH MUX button 1 is stereo, Page 2 button 1 is stereo on/off. It just sits on Page 2 with on/off being highlighted on and off. When you physically press the button you can hear it click, so I dont think its stuck down. I thought I’d reprogram this button to something I dont use but I think the button 1 is preventing me from programming properly as it wont program as per the instructions I have. Would greatly appreciate any help that can be provided on this please...
  4. Hello all, I have an 09 Malibu Waksetter VLX and the stereo is all stock. The head unit volume up button no longer is clicking and is almost like it is stuck down. Every once in a while it will automatically turn up the volume on the stereo to full volume which is a problem. I have taken the head unit apart and the button is not fixable. Is there a new inexpensive head unit that you guys recommend (would love to have a bluetooth feature)? Is there a way to get another stock one? Any advice is appreciated to remedy this annoyance. Thanks, Jace
  5. Recently purchased a 2014 23 LSV. It has the Rockford Fosgate system in it. I want to add a RCA Bluetooth kit to it. Any help on where the brain actually is? Also, is it possible to do what I am trying to accomplish? Thanks in advance
  6. Just bought first family boat '06 23 LSV and have a couple questions: First, it has two batteries w/ the perko selector switch in it. When I pulled the batteries to charge them I noticed that the huge amp/stereo wires just go to one battery, and not into the perko switch. Doesn't that negate being able to use the selector switch to choose which battery is powering the audio system? Is that common practice? Second, as I was reconnecting the wires everything went fine until I went to connect the negative lead from the speaker system/amp to the battery that I had connected the positive lead to first from the speaker system/amp. Pretty big fireworks. There was nothing when hooking up positives from switch and grounds (not even the tiny ones you'll get sometimes w/ new vehicles and all their computers), which leads me to believe everything going through switch is fine. It has the Medallion MUX switches on it, which I don't think were standard...When they put those in would they have been added to connect to power through the amps/stereo? I appreciate your help
  7. So I picked up a 2009 response Lx last week with 300 hours on it. It had no stereo or speakers from the factory. I have installed speakers in our last couple boats so I was not worried. I found the holes behind the leather in the rear but not the front. Then I realized the speakers are supposed to be dash mounted. I am really conflicted here on what to do. Should i cut in the dash mount speakers? I understand that also requires taking the windshield out. Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I have a 2010 Wakesetter 247 LSV. In trying to fix a problem with the power wedge, I reset the Maliview viper to factory settings. Now the radio won't respond to any button presses in the MUX switch. It was working fine before reset. I checked the MUX and the buttons work for other functions. Strange thing is that if I plug iPhone into cable in glovebox media port it will play music through stereo at about half volume but still no control through Mux or viper screen in the Maliview. Any help or ideas will be appreciated.

    2020 axis a22 zones

When I purchased my A22 recently I was told that the surf band will increase the tower speakers only. It appears that it controls zone 2 which currently is the speaker by the drivers feet and not the tower speakers. Would this be a wiring issue on the amps or a programming issue? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
  10. Hi guys. New here. Just picked up a 2006 sunscape 247 that will be a project for us this winter as it has no ballast or pumps or anything and we like to wakesurf, past boats were 2002 nautique 210 and 2006 Mastercraft x2. Boat has a tower and a decent stereo, just replaced head unit with a fusion ms-ra70 to upgrade to Bluetooth and this radio as well as the past unit has feedback in the speakers that are running off one of the amps. ive cleaned all grounds at battery, at boat, and when i disconnect alternator it goes away when running, only happens when boat is running. im seeing a few options on noise filters. It before I pull trigger wondering if anyone had this issue and if they were able to track it down or what products they used to fix it. thanks for your help!
  11. Hi y’all. I’m new here so I apologize in advance if this is not the right area to post this. I have a 2005 Malibu wakesetter vlx. This past winter with the help of a friend I installed a new stereo system. During this time I took off the arm rest/head unit cover. I’ve managed to reassemble everything else, but it seems I have lost the arm rest/ head unit cover. I was wondering if anybody new where to find a replacement. I have spent the past couple of hours trying to find one on the internet with no success.
  12. We have a 2007 VRIDE and looking to upgrade they current system in our boat as some items are currently not working. Currently we have a sony head-end unit with two wired remotes remotes, rockford fosgate P450.4 punch amplifier, (4)interior rockford fosgate punch (P162C) speakers and (2) Titan Cans with Maxxsonics DCG 116. Items not working include (1) speaker, (1) can and sony head end unit has trouble picking up the aux (phones) I would like to add a sub and amp to run the sub. What options do I have that won't break the bank but still repair the system. We typically wakeboard and chill. I am planning on adding a second battery to the system. Since we have some time on our hands I would like to do this sooner than later to enjoy the summer. Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA
  13. Just bought a 2019 Axis A20 with the base stereo option. Looking to add bow speakers and possibly a sub. Are the bow speakers pre-wired and powered by the control box? Where can I buy the OEM speakers to match the four in the main cabin? Will I need the dealer to flash anything to get them to work? Since I just bought a new boat, I'm trying to keep the budget down. I want to keep OEM functionality/beeps and not looking to go crazy loud anyway. I know I won't be able to hear it behind the boat while I ride without towers but that's fine. I live near and ride mostly on a smaller lake. Not trying to rock the whole lake with 1000watt tower speaker and be "that guy" raging tunes and sending rollers into peoples' docks. Just looking for a little more sound at the front of the boat and bass to fill out the low range while we hang out between rides. Basically trying to get to SP2 without the towers. Anticipating I will need an amp for the sub but trying to learn what I can about the current wiring setup without having to dig around and dismantle my brand new boat. Assuming the factory unit is standard 4 channels? By the way the current unit balances/fades and lack of power I'm assuming that currently the four rear speakers are being driven by the two rear channels, hoping that leaves two channels to drive the fronts? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Tower Speaker Box Build

I finally got around to organizing some pictures from summer 2019 and wanted to share this project. It sucks how low the tower crossbar is on the 2019 A22, but it's what I got and what I had to work with. I'm only 5'10", but there was NO WAY I was hanging a box off the bottom of the tower as I did in my previous boat. Adding a box on top of the tower IMHO looks silly. So this positioning was a no brainer, but it meant 2 boxes, and double the work. I started with simple templates to see how it would size up on the tower. I used one of the mounting holes for the upper board racks as the main attachment point to build around. I'm using (4) 6.5" speakers as I have done in previous builds. Once I got the general angles set, I cut up the wood and started piecing it together. Wrapped in fleece to get the general shape, then glassed the boxes and sanded them down. I honestly was NOT planning to make these look pretty. The Goal here was to make some functional boxes and to blend them into the tower so they do not draw attention. This was also a concept, just to see if this would work and didn't look like two turds. As it turns out, they came out really good and sound great for the limited amount of time I have put into them. So I finished up the sanding, painted them flat black as close to matched the tower as possible. Mounted the speakers, ran the wiring thru the tower and done! Sadly I don't seem to have a pic with the speakers installed. Doh! Where there's a will, there's a way! I have a lot more pics if anyone is interested. Happy Building! MWNT
