  1. This isn't much compared to the LED work some others are doing but here's my upgrade with a few pics. This is a pretty quick and easy mod to make, with help from another crew member that had some leftover supplies. I would've done this sooner if I'd realized how easy it would be. Malibu's stock LED's are using 2-wire Weather-Pack connectors, which you can get on Amazon, so this was basically a plug and play deal once the new LEDs were attached to the Weather-Pack plugs. Grab some 3M doublesided waterproof mounting tape from Amazon too. Here’s the stock LEDs. The trickiest part was backlighting the sub, which requires removing the bow storage bin and sub cover. There's just a few screws for each one of those though. Strip lighting attached upside down with the double sided tape.
  2. Just wanted to start a thread of some great (somewhat cheap) mods you can do to older Malibus. I've gotten some amazing ideas from this forum and figured there's even more hiding out there... Here's some of the mods I've done to my 2006 Malibu VLX Powdercoated Chrome Dash - $40 Rip Off Old Tribal Decals and Give Her a Buff - Free.99 (unless you need compound... $44) Seat Riser - $78 Weight... LOTS of it... but also a custom bracket to hold it in place - $289.99 + $60 (per bag) Easy Fix to that Peeling Monsoon Engine Paint - $12 Obviously a Good Wakeshaper to Build That Launch Pad - $325 And the Best for Last... a CRANKIN Sound System - $$ Lots of Mula What mods am I missing that all of you have done to your older boats to make them good as new?
