  1. I want to pass this information on incase someone else has same experience. Since my boat was new I would occasionally get a low oil pressure alarm activation. I would immediately shut down the engine and then restart it. This would always fix this issue, temporary. I have a 2019 A22 with a PCM 409. I have about 105 hours and I have had the alarm activation at about the 10, 60 and 94 hour mark. I took my boat back to where I purchased it after the issue at the 10 hour mark, Tilly's Marine in Norco, Ca. They found nothing wrong. Following year I would once again have the same alarm activation and the temporary fix was the same sequence. So now that I'm a year away from my PCM warranty expiring I decided to contact PCM directly. After giving them my engine serial number they emailed me back and told me that my batch range of serial numbers indicated that I most likely have a bad or faulty oil pump. They told me to take my boat to a PCM approved dealership for an oil pump replacement. I find it interesting that my boat dealer did not know anything about this oil pump issue.
  2. Hello, I have an 04 Malibu LXI 340 Monsoon. I’ve searched several posts on this site regarding similar issues but I haven’t had any luck fixing mine. For years the oil pressure gauge will drop at idle/slow speeds and sound the alarm. Revving the engine brings the pressure back up or high speed. Usually there are no initial issues after a fresh oil change (rotella 15w-40 with K&N oil filter) but after a few hours it acts up. Seems to be more common once the engine warms up each time. The oil sending unit and oil pressure switch have been replaced in the past with no change. I’ve made sure the cannon plug is not over greased and spread out the connectors. The brass T fitting for the sending unit and sensor was replaced prior to me owning the boat. At the end of last season, the oil pressure gauge read high and the needle continued to slowly climb and spin almost all the way around the gauge. (This happened two seasons before and somehow fixed itself after the thermostat was replaced by the dealership). Not sure if this was a coincidence? The gauge is currently stuck all the way around. I’m trying to decide if I should try replacing the sending unit and oil sensor again but don’t want to keep wasting my money. I see there is a Indmar digital oil pressure sending unit ($160) I’ve never replaced, could the be the problem? Any further suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. Every season I try and trouble shoot this issue without any success! Thank you,
  3. It's time for me to change fluids in my 2001 Sunsetter vlx with the 5.7L Indmar 325HP Monsoon 350ci EFI. My question is how many quart does the engine take? How many quarts of 30weight oil does the vdrive take? What kind of transmission fluid and how many quarts does it take? Also does the transmission fluid and the vdrive oil need to be pumped out or is it drained via a drain plug? Where do you pour in the new trans fluid and oil?
