  1. I just purchased a 2007I just purchased a 2017 wakesetter MXZ with 73 hours in it. I live in the Lake Tahoe area and just had to get the boat inspected before going out on the water. They are really thorough here with inspections would have to do a hot water flush through each ballast tank before you can go on the water. My pumps were filling up fine at the inspection and everything drained correctly. However, when I got on the water and hour later I went to fill up the tanks in the right rear ballast pump will not fire. I just opened up what I believe is the pump that will not fire and I don’t see any debris in it. I’ve heard about people resetting the fuse for this but I’m not sure where it is located. Has anyone else had this issue? Please help as we have a ton of family coming into town for the fourth and everyone is looking forward to using the new boat! Thank you in advance!
  2. I recently got my 2022 23MXZ and figured out a really cool feature that you can take pictures and videos from the camera. They are stored in the Android Gallery app. It was not easy to find and figure out how to get the clips but I did. Now I want to download these to a usb stick but am a little worried to mess around given the sensitivity of the operating system. Has anyone been able to download these pics and videos? If so any tips would be awesome. BTW to take a pic, just press the camera icon on the backup camera screen. To take a video it's a little less intuitive, you hit the video icon and it is marked with an "X", it will record until you hit it again and the "X" goes away.
  3. I am buying a used 2020 Malibu MXZ 23 and taking it to Florida. I need to know what modifications I need to make to make it salt water ready. I heard I need to buy something to attract the oxidation on the prop and other metal parts. Andy Carson

    Deciding new model

Have started researching for next years upgrade. Currently own a 17 22mxz and love the boat, but don’t want to own it out of warranty. That all being said, saw that they have added a 23 mxz to the lineup while keeping the 22 mxz. Does anyone have any insight as to why? will they eliminate the 22mxz in the near future? I recall when I first was looking in 2016 that Malibu had a 20’ mxz which only lasted a few years before being discontinued. Wife and I also want to surf behind a 23 LSV for wake comparison, but saw that they added a 22 LSV. Any inside info from someone that works for or in Malibu would be extremely appreciated. And if your feeling up for it - Wet Sounds or JL for tower speakers and sub ? TIA from New England.
  5. Hello, New member, and first boat owner also!... I was wondering if anyone has Updated their older Wakesetter Emblems to the newer 2020 look? I like the Malibu on the side versus the BIG Wakesetter. Or has anyone de badged theirs? Thanks! Paul 2014 22 MXZ

    2020 MXZ

This is a discussion space for owners of Malibu MXZ's to share thoughts on general topics and help each other better understand the inner workings of the boat, both off the line and aftermarket. To kick this thread off with a topic has anyone been battling with installing their own transom lighting? If so do you think it would be more cost efficient to have the feature added to the purchase package or added aftermarket, from what I've found (light searching) lighting can cost between $50-600's.
  7. So I’m looking to buy my first boat. Have had Jet Skis for years and feel my growing family would get more out of a boat now. I have been looking at what is in my price range so 2012-2016 LSV or MXZ. Probably a 23 or 24’ model. I’ve seen there are different engine sizes (350, 409, Corvette, Ford Raptor 6.7 and a Cadillac Super charged engine). Any advice on what years were best? What to keep away from? I’ll be out on the water with the Wife, 2 daughters, and our Lab. Thanks in advance for the input. I want to make a informed and smart decision since I’ll be keeping this boat for years.
