  1. Just finished up and tested for 60 miles out on the lake today everything worked perfectly. My gauges were working fine, but most of the time me and my wife just go out exploring on our home town lake. We like to go to the very top of the arms, and we didn't have a depth finder. I wanted something more than a simple depth gauge. I decided to go with a garmin echomaps chartplotter for the high relief depth shading option. I used a fox marine mefi-3 gateway with the oil pressure add on to convert the engine data to nmea 2000 network, and a garmin gfl 10 to convert the fuel sender to nmea 2000. I am waiting on a oil temp sender from across oceans systems then I'll add trans temp to the backbone. The install was really straight forward as all the components are pretty much plug and play. Except the gateway had 8 feet of cord so took that apart and cut them down to 1.5 feet, and the gfl 10 needs to be wired on to the fule sender. the dash bezel was heavily modified to remove the round gauges and mount the garmin. All in all it took a week of working after work and 1 full Saturday. I think it turned out pretty nice and I'm very happy with the results I have engine tach, oil pressure, water temp, gps speed, volts, fuel level, and soon trans temp. Not to mention all the things the chartplotter has like the maps, trip data, sonar and much more that I don't use. You can check out the photos of the build here https://photos.app.goo.gl/hMnMggtgixJQWtKb7
  2. The temperature gauge on my 1998 Sunsetter LX has quit working. My service tech has determined the wiring and sensor are working fine, se we assume it is the gauge. Malibu says it's a Teleflex gauge unique to 1997 and 98, and I'm having a difficult time tracking one down. Any suggestions? New, used, or upgrade. It's an electronic gauge with a straight 5-pin connector.

    05/06 chrome gauge trim

Hey everyone, new to the forum, but long time Malibu owner and forum viewer! I’ve got an issue I’m hoping someone can help me with. The chrome gauge bezel for my 06 wakesetter vlx was peeling, so I removed it to be refinished. Long story short, it got damaged and is no longer usable. I have called all the dealers I can think of and have been told this part was discontinued and that the only way to replace it is to either 1) find one that a dealer happens a to have laying around from back in the day, or 2) have a cnc shop make me a new one. I’m hoping someone on here has an idea for me, or knows where I might find one. However, I was also told by Scott at Texas Malibu that Ronnie has a machine shop and may be able to help me out as well. So Ronnie, if you read this, please reach out or let me know how I could contact you to discuss this. I know this has been discussed on here before, but so far I have found no solution. Any help would be much appreciated!
  4. My water temperature gauge has never worked properly. Temperature shows higher than air temperature. This is not possible. You have the ability to calibrate air temp but nothing for water temperature. People ask about the water temp as we live in Michigan. I have to say my gauge doesn’t work. Keep in mind it’s a 2019. Never worked from day one. Dealership can’t help.
  5. So I just got the boat last week and had it for the first time on the water, 2004 Wakesetter, noticed that the PP and all gauge are working but the needle of the analog tachometer doesn’t. I asked the previous owner and he said it was always working and I think it was actually working when we ran it first at his location. can anything happen on the hauling? Wind? Wires? I tried to look under the dash (and that’s a cluster of wires lol especially with that fancy sound system). Is that something that occurs often? Quick known fix? Which wire should I look at? Where? There’s a part at the engine side I should look at?
  6. My depth gauge on my 2006 Wakesetter quit working does anyone have any experience in repairing these?
