  1. Just bought this M235 and noticed the volt reading was at 12 when ignites on and dropped to like 11.7 when the motor started and was idling. After a few hours, i watched it keep dropping and it got down to about 10.5. I am assuming the alternator has gone bad but before I tear into that, just wanted to see if anyone else has had the same issue. Seems like an alternator shouldn't go bad after 4 years....
  2. We have a 1997 Malibu Echelon. We are fairly certain the alternator needs to be replaced and can’t seem to find the correct replacement. We are not trying to up the amps for anything like a stereo etc. Can’t anyone point us in the right direction?
  3. When I put a meter on the terminals on the alternator I just show same voltage as batteries. Not producing 14 volts. Typical running voltage for me has been 13.8. Now I charge up my batteries overnight and have enough juice to last the day but the alternator doesn’t seem to be charging. Seems to have started since the last time my kill switch came loose while cruising at about 25 mph. Hasn’t been the same since. Periodically I will see a small moment in time when my dash reads 13.8V.
  4. 2020 25 LSV, M6Di 170 amp alternator, battery option 3 (automatic charge selector) So I keep getting a low engine battery alarm. I start everyday with fully charged batteries off the tender. I have 3 batteries on board. The voltage reading on the engine diagnostics screen while running says 14.4 volts, the dash will start at 12 and drop down to 11 or lower after a couple hours. Then randomly, usually after a couple low engine battery alarms it will jump up on the screen to 13 volts or something. Rarely it will show 14.4. Others with the same boat have said it reads 14 volts on the dash whenever the boat is running. I feel like that should be the case, but I dont know if the battery option 3 with the automatic perko has something to do with it. Maybe a bad ground somewhere? bad connection? bad voltage regulator? Not sure where to start trouble shooting. I've got 100 hours on my boat since late April, and I'm hoping to keep using it through October before asking the dealer to figure it out. I carry a DMM onboard, so I have that at my disposal. Anyone with similar problems or advice? Advice greatly appreciated.
  5. Hi guys. New here. Just picked up a 2006 sunscape 247 that will be a project for us this winter as it has no ballast or pumps or anything and we like to wakesurf, past boats were 2002 nautique 210 and 2006 Mastercraft x2. Boat has a tower and a decent stereo, just replaced head unit with a fusion ms-ra70 to upgrade to Bluetooth and this radio as well as the past unit has feedback in the speakers that are running off one of the amps. ive cleaned all grounds at battery, at boat, and when i disconnect alternator it goes away when running, only happens when boat is running. im seeing a few options on noise filters. It before I pull trigger wondering if anyone had this issue and if they were able to track it down or what products they used to fix it. thanks for your help!
  6. Crew I need to replace my alternator on my 330 monsoon but need suggestions what amp output I should choose. I run a BIG stereo that has 2 amps so it draws a lot of juice. Who out there is an electrical ninja that can give me suggestions with how many amps and what brand is best. Thx!
  7. I've got a 2018 Wakesetter I bought last Sept. We've put 11 hours on the boat. We took it out today after being in storage all winter. Boat started fine. About an hour out on the lake, we started to lose power. Boat went dead. Could it be a faulty alternator? Boat is practically new. Any other possibilities?
