  1. Troubleshooting intermittent surf gate issues on 2017 Vtx. I’ve had the surf gate work for a few passes then get stuck out. Usually this is combined with the error about the reed switch being open/fault. We’ve been able to work around it by either switching from surf right to surf left and back. Worst case we’ve used the bypass valve to reset surf gate. After some research and finally being able to get a new actuator with said reed switch I replaced the actuator. I went to test it using first the calibration function to make sure the “in” setting was stored. I then went to hit service mode and the gate locked out, wouldn’t retract, and reported an error on the screen. I’m stuck now, not sure if a full reset to factory settings might help? Could it be relay pack? Is there something I’m missing?
  2. Issue with power wedge II on 2018 LSV skipping to position 4 when going from position 2 to 3. Anyone else have this issue? First ever post on here ever thanks.
  3. I’m looking at buying a 2013 MXZ (360hrs on Cadillac 572 engine) that meets all my criteria, only issue is the boat is 12hrs away, so taking my time to inspect and test drive and inspect again (maybe) is a bit hard to do. Been talking to the dealer and we’ve landed on a fair price though he’s mentioned he’s had to replace actuators on wedge, actuators on both surf gates, ballast bumps, and a switch that allows it to get into gear! but says all is operational and good to go now Question: do y’all think this is a sign of a lemon!? (I had a 10yr old Malibu for a few years - never had those issues) OR common repairs par for the course. And what would catch a larger issue during a pre-sale inspection if there were culprit for these issues (beyond poor original owner care?)
  4. Hey there.. I have a 2008 wakesetter with original power-wedge actuators. One of the actuators has stopped working, and on tear down of the housing I determined it's one gear that broke. Lenco does not sell replacement parts, and I really don't want to buy 2 new actuators.. Both motors are fine. The #s on the gear is 30/10, 14.5 degrees, 50150-002 B. If anyone can let me know where I could get that gear or even if anyone has some old actuators that I could get parts from that would be great..I have called my local dealer to see if they have old parts no luck.. Thanks Chris
  5. Hi - I have a 2007 LSV23. My wedge is stuck mid-way and my mechanic is saying it's likely an actuator / ram issue, but that they no longer sell individual parts...you have to buy whole kit and it will run around $1700. I understand what the actuator is....what is the ram(s)? Can you buy these parts independently. Can you use the same switch on the dash or do you need a new one. Thx
  6. First time out in my new -used 2009 23LSV - could not get the wedge to stow away in up position and later found that the actuators broke away from their mount and wedge is just hanging there now. Actuators seem to still work. Is there a way to replace the end cap of the actuator so it can be re mounted or do is have to buy all new. Did I drive too fast with it halfway up and cause this to happen
  7. I have been "mooching" off friends and family and talking about buying for the last probably 3 years. This spring, after months of looking, finally wrote the check and dove head first into ownership. Even though prices seemed to be abnormally crazy this spring, I found what I was looking for and bought a loaded, previous owner demo, 2013 LSV a couple weeks ago. I say purchased, but what I really did was rescue this poor thing from an abusive home. I found a gentleman who didn't quite know what he had and got a steal of a deal. I knew to some degree it was in need some TLC but it may have been a bit more neglected than I thought. It has only 202 hrs on it so I am fairly certain the bones are good, I am just having quite a bit of odds and ends that are needing to be repaired. I am looking for some insight on the issues below. I worked at a Malibu dealership in the summers through college, detailing and doing simple maintenance, so I would like to do as much as I can myself to save the coin. As well as saving the labor costs, none of the shops close to me can get it in until mid July. Not surprising but would still like to have it rocking sooner than later. Issues... 1.) Equip with all four MLS tanks as well as rear P&P, center fill pump is not responding at all. This pump is crazy hard to get to and I'm wondering how to replace the cartridge. Where do I splice/plug in the new pump cartridge? The display for this tank is also reading funky, sometimes it will say it has water in it and sometimes it won't. 2.) The PW will sometimes send an error of either being unbalanced or the STBD actuator is faulting out but will also work perfectly other times. Are these easy to change out and should I do both if I'm doing one? 3.) While surfing or cruising, "automatic bilge activated" warning keeps coming up. When I stop and look to see if their is water in the bilge, it is bone dry. Is there possibly a sensor that needs to be replaced? 4.) I feel the boat is wandering when cruising. When cruising around the lake 20-25 mph, I am constantly steering back and forth to keep it on a strait line. It can also be felt down at surfing speeds but more evident at higher speeds. I'm not against bringing it to a Bu dealer, I know a couple around but I don't want to have it sitting at the dealer for 2+ weeks in the middle of summer as they are not the longest up here anyway. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Hello everyone, I am new to posting on a forum, but I am desperate for some help. I have a 2008 Malibu wake setter VTX (20'). I took the boat in to have some speakers swapped and an amp added and while doing the install, the wedge Lenco actuators started making a loud noise. They thought it was pump or blower and turned the battery power off after about 5-10 min. I quickly found that the noise was coming from the actuators and there was a vibration as if they were trying to activate. I deployed the wedge, but I can't put the wedge back up. I have spoken to a few mechanics, the local dealer and Bake's and everyone points the finger at the stereo installer, but they claim to only have connected directly to the batteries and the amp directly to the stock JBL unit and didn't touch anything on the driver's side. So, I had everything put back to stock and we still have the same noise. I disconnected one of the actuators and it has the noise and vibration, but it does not move back and forth. No one can figure out why they are making the noise without pushing the buttons to go up or down. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Dave
