  1. Does anyone would know where I can order a ski pylon for a 2021 Malibu VTX20 in Canada or USA? Does any store have it in stock?
  2. This past weekend, while performing the standard 10 hour break-in period for our new boat, the engine Malibu Monsoon M6DI just sputtered out and the engine cut in the middle of the lake. We were around ~8 engine hours and everything was working totally fine until the engine shut-off. We weren't pushing the engine hard, besides 15 minutes to make sure the wedge, surf gates, and PnP ballasts worked the day before. When we took it out the following day, it started up just fine on the lift, and we were casually cruising around the lake when it stopped. Currently the boat battery will turn on like normal, automatically run the blower for 3 minutes, and start up process like usual. There are NO engine codes or alarms on the HMI which is where I'm stuck. When I click the start/stop button, you can hear the engine crank and attempt to start but it wont actually start the engine (the belt just keeps spinning without turning on the engine). Even after releasing the start/stop button after a second it will continue to try to start the engine to no avail and keep revving. The only way I can get it to stop cranking is to manually turn the battery off, otherwise it would just keep trying to start the engine. From my limited engine/electronics knowledge, I'm having a hard time pin-pointing what could go wrong because it's clearly getting power from the battery to turn the crank, but something between clicking the start button to actually getting the pistons to rev isn't working. I'm struggling to diagnose and will take it to the dealership to fix this week, but was hoping for any quick advice here. I'm most confused because everything seems to working normally from a battery, fuel, oil perspective. The ignition/The engine will spin, but just not fully turn over. If anything I thought I would've seen problems when we checked to confirm the wedge, surf gates, etc. were working at slightly higher RPM, but that worked perfectly. Things I've Checked: It still has plenty of oil Batteries ~14.5V Engine is getting fuel Boat is in Neutral Hoping someone on here has witnessed the same and can help!
  3. Hi everyone, I just purchased the M240 it is amazing. It’s everything you’d ever want or need but the configuration and size of the trash can sucks. Before I go get something custom made I’m wondering if anyone has a fix. Thanks!

    2021 23 LSV Review

After having spent about 20 hours in the new 23 LSV over the last two weekends, I wanted to share my review of this boat. Before I start, my background of different Malibu boats. I had a 2011 23 LSV, loved the boat, upgraded/downgraded in 2014 to a VLX for surfgate. It was great boat, had a lot of power with the torque prop, could wakeboard full ballast, 750's in rear and 1,000 triangle up front with wedge in the max setting. My favorite boat to this point has been the 2015 23 LSV (a friend's boat). Something about PWII, GM Motor, and updated dash were a good combination. I primarily wakeboard when out on the water. I help my local dealer throughout various events each year and have since 2011 and am very familiar with the changes each year but when it isn't yours, you don't always see how it impacts your boating experience. Anyways, now to the good stuff.. Some options that I ordered were: swim step, flip-down side entry seats, sliding bench seat/table, M6, Torque prop, and Rev10's on G5 tower. Fit / Finish / Storage: Either Malibu is doing a better job of having fewer spare parts floating around in the bilge or my dealer did a good job but the boat came very clean on delivery. The hinge seats are awesome upgrades and make accessing storage a breeze. I can fit a couple surfboards under the seats if I wanted. With the L - Shape ballast, it limits the storage in the rear lockers and may become a concern when I put bags in there as this is where we normally store wet jackets and bouy's. We will see how this plays into our experience more next season. I really like the firmness of the seats compared to prior years. The walkover transom is a huge plus and is one of the main reasons we upgraded. We did opt for the filler cushion but don't really intend to bring it along for every outing but in certain instances where we know we will mainly float, it will likely come along for the ride. I do like the ability to access the OB storage from the bow. Driver's Helm: With the switch in 2020 of the sport knob and 7" touch screen, it takes a minute getting used to but isn't bad. The power seat is nice but wobbles more than I would like. I did notice that the windshield has more "blindspots" than my VLX did. This is because the framing is larger in the walkthrough and corners. Everything is comfortable to reach and ease to use. Engine Performance: The boat has a lot of that "put you in your seat" feeling at various throttle positions making it fun. My VLX did the same with the torque prop. At this point, I haven't fully loaded the boat out for surfing other than factory ballast, but I am not concerned it will do what I want it to do. When cruising, about 3500 RPMs gets about 23 MPH. I have noticed fuel consumption to be around 4-6 GPH of mostly cruising speed, initial break-in, etc. My average cruising RPM has been around 3600. As it has been stated before, the ability to winterize this in a few minutes flat is incredible and another huge plus. Wake Performance: Having never wakeboarded behind an '18 or newer 23 LSV (only 25 LSV and 24 MXZ), my favorite wake has been a '15 23 LSV to date. The shape of the wake and the size were all great. After riding behind this new boat, with only 200 lbs of lead under the port side seats to balance the boat with a driver, and 2 kids total weight less than 70 lbs, and wedge in position 4, I can say the wake was much larger than I would expect and pleasantly surprised. It is larger than the '15 LSV fully loaded stock ballast. I can do everything and more without ever loading up the ballast system. On the note of the ballast system, the new setup of eMLS makes fill times faster and I haven't had issues with the siphoning effect that would happen as you would drive around. Surf Performance: I have only loaded stock ballast and have not actually ridden behind the boat. Other than evaluating it on appearance, it is larger than my VLX loaded. That is all I have now. Keep in mind, I am not worried about the surf wave as this is not my primary purpose behind the boat. I know it will surf well. Ride Handling: Having spent the previous weekend in an Ri257 on a large lake with lots of chop and knowing what my experience has been in the '15 LSV and my VLX, I wasn't expecting it to compare to the Ri. While, I wouldn't recommend hauling across a lake in a lot of chop like you can in the Ri, this 23 does an amazing job cutting through and is significantly smoother than my expectations. When you land on the rough part of the wake and the boat hits hard, this boat will land much softer and not as jarring. Malibu changed this up on this new boat and I can tell with a "deeper v". I didn't need to come off throttle from a cruising speed to a plowing surf speed to ride through chop. It was great. I do notice that just like the Ri257, turning and various other movements at idle happen slower but it is to be expected. Audio Performance: One of my biggest concerns was the limitation here but I knew this going into the new boat. Having worked with my local dealer through events over the last several years, I have seen the improvements that Malibu has made to better tune these boats. It has more potential but is fine for the listening that we do. Having the ability to store music from your streaming app of choice is nice - mine happens to be Amazon Music. I like that I can download the playlists prior to leaving the house and hitting the water without needing to use my phone as a music device. Overall: I am extremely excited about this boat. There are so many marginal improvements from a 2014 to now that you don't realize until you upgrade and use that are nice changes - things like battery location, wind screen storage location, seat hinges, deeper storage, etc. It certainly makes the day out on the water more enjoyable.
  5. It is about that time of the year when the forum starts with their new predictions on new models and changes that are coming. I will start: Desire: Walk over expanded through more models New models predictions, 22 MXZ, 24 MXZ
