3 simple questions

I should probably break these up, but I'm tired after enjoying the weekend on the lake.

1) Today I was wakeboarding while a heavy buddy drove and his lightweight kid spotted. The wake was crisp on starboard but washed out on port because of my buddies weight. Is it ok to fill only one tank (say port)? and leave the other empty?

2) I changed my prop for the first time to replace a damaged one. I was pleased at the ease of the operation. However, I was confused because the instructions said to remove the cotter pin first. The cotter pin was missing which made it difficult to find. My ACME Weekend Saver kit came with one so I put it on. The second day disappeared. Are these things important and is there a trick for keeping them on?

3) When I drive the boat pulls to port. That is if I take my hand off the wheel the boat turns fairly sharply to port. I know there's a tab on the rudder to adjust for this. Is this a good thing to do and how should I do it? It seems that the adjustment would increase my fuel efficiency as the rudder would not be angled as much causing drag (although the tab would be.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Yes. But one side empty and the other full is probably going to cause the reverse problem...unless the difference between the weights of your driver and observer is the same amount of weight the tank holds. Maybe full tank on port side and half tank on starboard.

They keep the nut from backing off completely in case it loosens. If the nuts falls off so can your prop. Shocking.gif Just put it through the shaft and spread the ends completely as far as you can.

Pulls to port? Hmm, most pull to starboard. The idea being that with slight resistance the boat will tend to go straighter with slight steerring wheel pressure. If the rudder is completely nuetral the steering will feel loose and the boat will be more prone to wander a bit.

Question 1: Another option for this issue is to do what I do. I have one 85 lbs fat sac cube shaped that I will fill at the beginning of the day and will move the block left or right accordingly. Then you still have both ballast full and you have a litttle more weight in the boat. Thumbup.gif The bigger the wake the better!!!
