Hi All, First I'd like to thank the comments and advice on this site. You help me to configure, price and desire, even more, my Malibu boat.

Today I ordered a WS 23LSV, diamond hull and worked with my Bu dealer to config a walk thru hull (no bow ballast) in there as well. I'm not, nor are my family/friends expert waksters so I thought this would be the best thing for me. Boat is loaded w/ rear / mid ballast, pwr wedge, xtd bimini, shower and the list goes on. Only dealer option I did not get was the STE Exhaust tips. I wanted them but I wasn't sure how much reduction in noise I'd get...any input from the Crew?

FWIW, I test drove an X-30 and Bu side by side...could not believe the difference. Not only was the dealer experience better with the Bu but the difference between the boats was night and day. I'm coming from the I/O world of boats and the X-30 didn't seem that much different. It drifted and steered just like my I/O, albeit I was wrapped in the MC allure...I kind of felt like the only reason to buy MC these days is because of it's historical elite status, which I think is changing in Bu's direction. JM2C

Anyway, I'm happy the decision is over. Now I just have to wait for the boat to be built. I'm sure I'll be looking for advice from you all over the next couple of weeks.

Congrats on the new purchase of a 'bu and welcome to the site. Like you said there's a lot of helpful people on here to find all the advice in the world. I would have to say waiting for the boat to be built is a long process to go through but with summer right around the corner and being able to go to the factory and watch it being built is the fun part.

Welcome to the site! It's always nice to see a new Malibu owner and in Nor Cal at that. You have obviously been around the site since you said it helped your decision but let me pass on as well that you won't find a better group of people and information.

Since your going to get a bunch of advice and opinions here, I'll offer the first opinion. In regards to having the walk through and no bow ballast...most that have not got it wish that they did if not for the ability to have it or try it when necessary. You don't have to fill it if you don't want to which is pretty much the same as not having it. Even those that don't have the bow ballast usually leave the center cushion in which results in the loss of 'walk-through' but there is always the exception. You don't lose the storage so that is something to but another issue is when it comes to resale which can be a pretty big thing. As you can tell, I have it as well as many others and nobody has left a post that I have seen saying they wish they didn't get it but there has been many that said they wish they did.

I also have the STE's and they do offer some noise reduction. They also give a nice finishing look. It's kinda one of those things like above.....some of the crew have added after the fact but no one has complained about having them.

All in all, do what YOU like. That's what makes the boat your own.

Congrats and let us see the pics when you get 'em.

Boy oh Boy, is your wait going to be long J/K. I bought mine in Dec. picked it up in late Feb. and I'm still fighting to get her ready, "it's only been a couple of months and it feels like 1/2 a year". I should have had the dealer do most of what I'm doing now but I thought I would have fun doing it myself. I am, but really wish at times I was out on the water instead of working on it. Almost done and ready to go, bottom line is good things are worth waiting for. When you do get it, I'm sure you'll be ready to go.

Congrats on your decision, I honestly feel not because I have one but Malibu is at the top right now.
