Me: Kids, we're going on spring break to Yosemite

Wife: great idea!

Me: Kids, since we'll be driving through Merced, let's stop and see how our boat was made at the Malibu factory. It will be educational and stuff....

Wife: um, OK..educational huh?

----Great factory tour by Jorge, saw the whole process up close, caressed boats, sat in different types, commented on color combinations, smelled the sweet smell of fiberglass resin, heard 6 different types of music blaring at every station, watched a water test on the lake, got the free t-shirts and stickers, stared slackjawed at the 25 LSV (dubbed by us as the "potty boat")---

Wife: I like the blue one over there...

Wife: How much for that 247 I like?

Me: Cry.gif

Can't imagine being there, my boat only has 3 hrs on it. I'm one of those 50-60 hrs a year type guy, if we aren't pulling someone we are not moving "don't want to put extra hours on the motor just cruising around" I would hope in 5 years I will be a position to be able to buy another new one.

Sheesh,

This whole time I thought reluctant wife meant something else.

I purposely titled the thread "reluctant spouse" since 'reluctant wife' took on a whole different meaning. Biggrin.gif

I see you read the thread title the way you wanted it to read.....or maybe you're just used to it? Tease2.gif

Good story...I can remember during the whole demoing of boats the malibu was last on the list. I can remember the sales guy driving us out and saying who's first. I reluctuntly let my wife go first...I can still remember the grin she got from one ear to the other. The next thing she is saying how great the boat is, how much nicer than mc, supra, and centurion this boat was...I looked at the salesman... I can still remember the grin on his face from one ear to the other.

I was friends with our dealer before we bought our boat. He sent us out for the day in a VLX for his grand opening. My wife did not like our old boat anymore. I ordered our Vride the next week. She didn't put much of a fight at all.

Great story. I have similar issues. I usually say "Hey, lets get a new ...." Expecting her to keep me in check and say no, she usually says "good idea". Doh!

I know, I know, I have it tough right.
