Fly High Pro X Series Sacs

I'm putting together my first ballast system and just ordered three of the Fly High Pro X Series sacs. They come with one quick-connect fitting and one female threaded fitting mounted in the top of the sac, and one female threaded fitting mounted in the bottom. I assumed that with these you would be filling/venting through the top fittings, and draining through the bottom one, but the literature has me confused. Those of you who have these sacs - how do you have your fill/vent/drain lines set up on the sacs?

I was going to fill through the quick-connect, vent through the other top fitting and drain out the bottom, but the literature says there are "two fill/vent fittings", leading me to believe they would be of the same type and therefore one would have to be on the bottom, leaving only the top-mounted quick-connect for the drain. I can't see that you'd drain out of the top of the sac, you'd never get all the water out. Thanks.

Depends on how your using them. Some of the folks here have 'fixed' systems meaning they don't move their sacs if ever which for the most part have them set up like you were talking about. I use two 400# sacs for surfing (one on top of the other in the back compartments) and move them frequently for those annoying regular footers, so my system is not 'fixed'. I DO drain from the top of the sac (the same one I fill with) and it works easily and I am only using one pump for all of it. The very last bit of water that is left I do by hand just hanging the sac upside-down. So again, it depends on how your setting yours up and if your moving them around and or putting them away when your done which it seems to me you are especially since you have a DD. How do you want your setup to work?

I plan on having a sac in the ski locker that is more or less permanent, only needing to be removed for cleaning, etc. The other two need to be more "mobile" because they will just be out on the deck, alongside the engine box and/or behind the engine box / on the rear seat depending on where I can put them to produce the best surfing wake. These I might just fill manually until I know where the best set-up will be, then I would like to have the the pumps mounted permanently with the hoses stored in the side wells or rear compartment that I can pull out and connect when filling/draining the sacs.

Brad - thanks for the info. I was reading the thread and like the idea of using those 3/4" fittings you found at Lowe's. My question, though, is how do you keep the water from pushing through your drain pump while filling? You must have some sort of valve on your drain line?

The loop in the drain line should prevent this.
