Fake-A-Lake (Where Does it Go!?)

Recommended Posts

The Pictures i have seen shows putting the little plunger thing pretty much right next to the rudder..

i just looked at the bottom of my echelon...there is no hole that resembles a water intake of any sort... small gap where the rudder turns, and where the propshaft comes out.

Still for the life of me, no idea how to use this fake-a-lake thing if i was to get one... is there an easier (and more cost effective) way? one of the intake hoses right off the engine to a hose or something?

Which Hose? and How??

It's there somewhere...unless you have a stern drive. Look up closer to your tracking fins. It's likely covered by a metal grate.

Your picture doesn't go low enough to tell you which hose to follow. Find the lowest hose you can see from the front of your engine and follow it away from the engine, probably to your left as you are facing the engine as if you are taking that picture. That's where it penetrates the hull...not back by the rudder or propshaft.

Your other option would be to remove the water intake line from the inside of the hull fitting, bend it upward, and let a garden hose run into it while you run the engine. You'll need a second pair of hands.
