White Stuff on Bow Light

So on our mayden voyage of 2007 I noticed a bunch of white stuff caked on our flip up bow light. The top (underside) was fine but the light side that was flipped down all winter is the one that is messed up. It was not there in the fall and the boat has had a cover and been in a storage until all winter. I wish I had more specifics but I just looked at it briefly. I took a towel and tried to wipe it off but it is on there pretty good. Thoughts?

-Thanks

Sounds like some excess polishing compound from the factory that dried over the winter.

Some metal polish as recommended above will clean things up, and you shouldn't have that problem again.
