2008 23 LSV faded into display center. Can hardly see tank fullness during the day.

I have a 2008 LSV. I recently fixed the pumps on my boat and want to start surfing. When I went to fill my tanks I could hardly see the info display (like super faded ink) unless I held my hand over it and had it shaded. It was midday on a bright day. Is there a way to take the display out and attempt to fix the brightness? At night when the dash lights are on it’s lit up just fine, just near impossible to see during the day.

Can you post a picture? If it looks like an ink dot, then you will need to send it off to gauge saver in FL to be repaired. Leadtime is around 4 weeks. You can use the boat without the screen.

The only other option is Bakes for a new one which will run you $600+.

I will post a pic today when I take the cover off. Doesn’t really look like the ink has leaked per se, just super super faded and hard to see. Didn’t know if I could take it out and clean up the connections on the back or something

Mine had the same issue. I was able to clean it up and get it very clear with some simple green followed up with some armor all.

If its fine at night, you just need the overlay. Cheap and easy.

I'm just curious as to where I can currently source an overlay?

The white overlay can be sourced directly from Medallion. The yellow overlay is in stock at Malibuparts and Bakes.
